"What I will tell you is that the on-the-ground enthusiasm that we see in North Carolina has been incredibly strong — maybe historic — in the past week, and we've had a campaign that's been built to capitalize that, in a way the Trump campaign has simply been absent," Kanninen said. He pointed to a gathering to train volunteers in Greenville days after Harris entered the race that drew nearly 100 people — a relatively sizable crowd in a small city that surprised the campaign.

Building out early has allowed the campaign to reach out to a key voting bloc — rural Black voters — earlier than they would have otherwise, and also begin their effort to "cut the margins" of Trump's support among moderate Republicans and "middle partisans" in rural counties, Kanninen said.

tbh every single one of the unions should have withheld their endorsements until the VP pick was finalized. Her stabbing them in the back by lifting up either Kelly or Shapiro would invite SO much backlash it wouldn't even be funny at all :rip:

Counterpoint. If the vp pick was going to be a deal breaker for unions, wouldn't they have withheld their endorsement until after a vp was chosen?

Shapiro was rumored to be a vp choice before Kamala was even a candidate, these unions were aware that he could be the vp and they endorsed Kamala's campaign anyway

Dddddd. This being the first time I've seen or heard about Biden since Kamala stepped in. He's more likable when I'm not inundated with his corpse.

I love that his admin is giving Kamala a lot of the credit for this swap too.

They also understand it doesnt matter who she picks as vp. Harris would be the president and the one making the decisions.

Even without that tweet about Walz not cancelling his events next week, I've been pretty low on his odds of getting picked. He comes across as someone who the campaign will want blitzing media appearances (similar to Buttigieg) instead of actively on the ticket.

Beshear's our only realistic hope if we want to avoid Kelly/Shapiro (and at this point I'm so angry at the thought of a Shapiro pick that I'd probably be fine with Kelly now by comparison :deadbanana4:)

What if the plan was always Kelly and they made it look like it was going to be Shapiro to make people feel better about it being Kelly

Mind of a mastermind :eli: Of course, picking someone people actually feel good about feels like a better plan than trying to trick people into feeling good about someone :toofunny2:

I don't understand why some on the left are so focused on single payer when Obamacare is right there. It polls really well and can be expanded with a public option.

Fracking I get, we shouldn't be doing it but people love cheap oil.

That little blurb about a Federal Jobs Guaranteed is from the Washington Examiner, a conservative website trying to catch Harris in a gotchu moment. Harris signed onto a resolution supporting The Green New Deal which mentioned creating millions of well paying jobs. She never really took a stance on a Jobs Guarantee though so it sucks Robinson is trying to act like she did.
