MAKSIM Posted July 30 Posted July 30 (edited) According to the latest Morning Consult, here are the favorability numbers for VP candidates among swing state independents (Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin) Kelly - +11% Shapiro - +8% Beshear - +3% Buttigieg - +3% Whitmer - +3% Pritzker - -7% A side note, Whitmer and Buttigieg's are most accurate as they have the most name recognition and so are subject to less wide swing variability, as Beshear, Shapiro and Kelly have a 20-30 point "never heard of/no opinion" gap on Whitmer and Buttigieg. Walz was not included in the poll. I did not include Warnock, Moore or Cooper's numbers, as they are not reported as being in contention. Edited July 30 by MAKSIM 1

thesegayz Posted July 30 Posted July 30 (edited) She has to go with Walz. She has to. her weakness in 2020 was her inability to defend herself when people poked through her talking points. While I think Kamala has evolved since 2020, no one is so plain-English in his defense of progressive values as Walz. Beshear is putting on a good show, but I think Walz just has this natural, shoot from the hip attitude in his answers that would really add wisdom to the Harris campaign. Strengthen the left flank by getting an effective communicator, because taking Minnesota out of the "Trump field" with Walz would waste resources they wanted to / have committed toward Minnesota. Wisconsin and Michigan are arguably more culturally linked to Minnesota, so those would start leaning to Kamala is she takes a back seat and tours the blue wall states and let's Walz speak more for the tour to learn and refine. I don't really see that mentorship from Shapiro. They'd both be learning together. And Shapiro is cos-playing Obama. It's eery, not nostalgic like he was probably hoping Edited July 30 by thesegayz 5
