I feel like if Harris was in the lead then Tim Walz would be a safe choice.

but she's not. So I won't be surprised if she doesn't pick him

Kamala's being doing great so far but she needs to be doing more rallies and events. Like she had nothing today and nothing tomorrow in her schedule 💀

like I know there's a big rally Tuesday but still.

she needs to be barn storming the swing states with multiple rallies and stops daily

Can we speculate as to why she isn't?

For starters, she's probably taking over what Biden was originally scheduled for which reportedly to preserve energy was only two events a week. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

According to Polymarket (and think these betting sites are onto something based on past predictions that Biden was dropping out coming true), it's pretty much between Shapiro, Kelly and Walz. Beshear only has 3% so you can pretty much count him out. The people who are putting their money where their mouths are think he has practically no chance of becoming Kamala's VP.

I'm HOPING they are just getting everything planned out and building up the hype before putting out a full campaign schedule for her. I want to see big campaign events that rival Trump's. I think she can do it.

I'm all in on Walz at this point so I'm preparing myself for disappointment. :gaycat7:

I feel like he could be for Kamala what Biden was for Obama. He's great at getting the message across and doing it in a way that feels authentic.

This is what I'm hoping is the case. She's picking up Biden's schedule then after will start barn storming the swing states with multiple rallies and stops. Go to small town diners, barber shops, stores ect before the rally. Really maximize your outreach while in these towns. Also college is starting  again and she could definitely do some college campus rallies or get together.

Almost too good to be true...I hope with less than 100 days until the election and the nomination locked, Trump doesn't dump him now.

There's more and more rumblings about it, especially after his favorables came out.

If Trump wins then I know he'll be doing this in 2028…

The constant desire to amplify and validate right-wing framing. :rip:

Venezuelan migrants do not contribute to any so-called "border crisis" because Venezuelans are part of a group who are still largely granted asylum.

Not to double post, but the below exchange with Aaron shows why giving into right-wing framing is ultimately futile, because those complaining about "illegal immigration" don't actually care if the immigration occurring is illegal or legal. They're literally white supremacists who simply want *no* migration occurring, even when groups from places like Cuba and Venezuela inadvertently end up being right-wing migrants and ultimately helping conservatives. You're not going to win over Republicans on hate.

The US literally found a way to effectively deport those who came in without clearance from 4 countries while then establishing a way to legally clear and background check those from the same 4 countries, ensuring they enter legally, to which the response is "but the total isn't going down???".

You can't deploy economic sanctions on any country and then be shocked mass migration comes to your door. If you want people to stop coming to America full-stop, as opposed to just stop coming illegally, you have to simply lift said economic sanctions (especially proven given that the countries part of the CHNV are a mix of both left-ring and right-wing countries).

Dems need to amplify this and use it as an example of what Trump will do.

Love his content. His haters/MAGA Latinos are a mess for mass voting for his opponent at Premiso Juventud.  :biblio:

Because she's vice president, they most likely have to vet every location and building that could be where an event takes place. It's gonna take a little while to get everything in order. Unfortunately.   That's why having surrogates like all of these governors doing these events for her in the meantime  is important.

Also, we need to take into account the fact that Democrats don't necessarily latch on the rallies the way the Trump supporters do.. We definitely need rallies and events, but we really need to focus on the advertising and the messaging.

If he's gonna dump vans, he needs to do it ASAP because these ballots are about to be printed and then he can't back out. I wouldn't put it past the Republican party to have another convention if Trump decides he wants a new vice president.

This man as prospective Senate Majority Leader scares the **** out of me, dare I say almost more than Trump. More focused than Trump, less clunky than DeSantis, more shameless than most in the GOP.

Yeah I feel like the quiet part no one wants to say out loud right now is that even if Kamala wins, even a likely close Senate loss means that if a SCOTUS seat opens up she'll have basically no chance of getting anyone to the left of a Merrick Garland type moderate seated. And if we lose the Senate by enough seats that Collins/Murkowski/Romney are no longer the tipping point, I'm skeptical a Republican Senate wouldn't just completely stonewall her and block a nom indefinitely.

Oh, they would absolutely stone wall, but then Dems could make that a big message for 2026 midterms. Dunno how favorable or not the Senate races are for Dems in 2026.

Kamala is in a shitty position rn. She is still the VP so she can't publicly contradict POTUS and so I'm not sure what the answer is?

Think it's a combination of this and renewed security concerns - might've been easier to throw something together last-minute had we not just seen an attempt on Trump. Now there's the worry for retaliation on top of the typical need to protect her as VP on top of her being the (presumptive) nominee.
