Walz does at least seem to be a top tier surrogate. ย Regardless of who is VP, I hope all the prospective choices turn up the heat like this.ย

The vp just needs to be someone that does the least amount of damage and makes the least amount of people angry. Kelly and Shapiro piss off progressives. Every video I see of the Kentucky guy is cringe. Just give it to Walz and call it a day.
Or bring this campaign to the next level and pick Whitmerย

Tim walz is the perfect vp pickโ€ฆโ€ฆbesides the looks department. And thts sad to say that but he looks much older than he is.ย
ย

but then again that might be a plus for her campaign. A white man who looks older ๐Ÿคท

Odd that Kelly, Beshear, Whitmer, and Shapiro are all pro-Israel but only Shapiro is the one singled out as "Genocide Josh" and most people in this thread as the "Zionist"

Feels like raising the minimum wage to $15/hr would have been such an easy win ultimately lost due to Biden having no personal appetite for it to where now calls for any minimum wage increase have already shifted to $17-$20/hr given the last 4 years.ย

Anyway I think Tim Walz made a pretty compelling showing the other day against JD and his Midwest background plus experiences make him a great candidate. My hesitation is that he is relatively older than the other candidates and that cuts a bit against the fresh Kamala energy and the contrast against now the oldest official Presidential candidate in US historyย

Genocide Josh wants to advance a bill that would retaliate against any university that divests from Israeli interests by slashing their state funding, butโ€ฆ sure. The only reason he's singled out is because of his religion and not his policy stances. Sure. :dies:ย

How many other VP picks are having the very same local papers who endorsed them for state office come out and argue they should not be VP?

ย

ย

You will never be Tom Wolf!

The failure of the Russia sanctions package to contain Putin should have been a hint that US sanctions weren't really working anymore. And the fact that they know the amount of sanctions they've put out is excessive but their belief is that every single one of them is justified shows how they can't help themselves in their delusion that we are the force of moral good in the world. Whenโ€ฆ one of the worst atrocities in modern history is currently unfolding with our explicit support.

The polls are all over the placeย :ahh:

ย

I feel like they're going to stay that way for a while. I heard someone say they expect polls to stabilize by first week of August but I feel like they'll start hitting a steady state around then but won't really stabilize till after the DNC.ย

is there anything problematic or particularly concerning about Walz? im a little ootl based on what ive seen he seems likes a great choice since idk how i feel about beshear

I know he's in the process of being vetted but I feel like he's def one of their top choices. This tweet feels very intentional in that way. If they're picking a candidate to contrast Vance, he's probably the most obvious choice.

Idk if he has any downsides from a leftist perspective but his record is amazing and extremely progressive so I guess some could view that as a fault if they're punching from a centrist position?

ย

He quickly became my 2nd fave after seeing how easy it is for him to launch attacks on conservatives. He does look older but he's basically Kamala's age.ย
ย

Vance wouldn't stand a chance against him on the debate stage.ย
