I feel like this week will decide if Kamala is the Eugene McCarthy/Bobby Kennedy of this race (but actually alive and nominated), or if she's just 2024's Hubert Humphrey.

Β

She has a real chance to wipe clean the stains of Biden's foreign policy and restore young voters' trust. Bring back the "we'll talk to everyone" policy that 2008 Obama ran on and push for a ceasefire. Secure Rashida's endorsement. Show Netanyahu and his lackeys that they won't get charte blanche anymore.

Β

No one is expecting anti-Zionist Kamala, but a genuine commitment to a two-state solution would already be a massive improvement.

Would it be legal for the Trump campaign to drop Vance and swap in someone else? He is a huge liability. Otherwise they should just hide him until January 21st.

According to my research, it is perfectly legal for a presidential candidate to change their running mate after the convention. Ultimately, these are all internal party procedures. Although, it would be pretty inconvenient to do so if ballots were already printed.

The Constitution doesn't even REQUIRE that the President and Vice President be from the same party (in earlier elections, it was common for the runner-up to become the VP). The 12th Amendment even establishes separate votes for President and VP. Electors could potentially vote for whoever they want as VP (depending on the rules for each state regarding faithless electors).

But compared to the president(Biden), Harris performs three points better among women, seven points better among Americans aged 18 to 29, seven points better among independents, eight points better among Black Americans and 13 points better among those who view both Biden and Trump unfavorably (so-called "double haters"). (These groups have small sample sizes and therefore larger margins of error than the survey as a whole.)

i'm not gonna feel comfortable till the polling average is at least like Kamala +3, GOP EC advantage can likely overcomeΒ  anything lessΒ :eli:

Apparently the EC Republican advantage is slightly worse for them than 2020? Forgot where I saw that.

Shapiro has some allegations of shady ties. One in particular is this case of a girl whose death was ruled a "suicide"Β :celestial5:Β I saw this post shared in the past, the case has gotten local attention in Philly:
