Shapiro is like the WORST pick but you can imagine a situation where donors are trying to install him cuz then they have a Zionist in office and tbh I can see them trying to vanquish Kamala while in office to put him in as POTUS.Β

I live in a red state, and just saw some straight men. I just knew then and there that they wouldn't vote for Kamala.Β

Kamala's team seems to be aware of how unpopular Israel have become and are carefully pivoting a bit so choosing Shapiro in the end would be pretty strange.Β Β

I don't know much about Mark Kelly, what little i've seen is ok, but he doesn't excite me

Donors have way too much say. Kamala should pick based on her gut.Β

I still don't know how much the party is aware of how unpopular Israel is (or, perhaps more importantly: how much they care). The shift in public sentiment regarding Israel/Palestine has been pretty recent, and even if it is on the party's radar they may think that it's just a temporary shift. Which, sadly, they may not even be wrong about. Even now the war seems to have largely faded from the public consciousness in the wake of everything that's been going on domestically.

I'm nervous. She's known she could have to take over as the nominee for awhile considering Biden's age as POTUS, but where is the strong message? What are her three main policy issues? How is she different from Biden?

Let's get Marianne to look in ha crystal ball and tell us

I agree that polling is going to be all over the place for a few weeks or even months. She has to announce her VP and then after that and some campaigning with both of them more visible, THEN the polling will be more accurate. I think until then, we have to go off of enthusiasm (which has been huge) and take polling with a grain of salt.

What are Kamala's main ambitions as POTUS? Let's remember Hillary outspent Trump 2-1 and still lost in the electoral college. Voters knew Trump was focused on the border, trade, and bringing back jobs in 2016, but couldn't name many of Hillary's policies. Obviously Kamala has abortion working in her favor, but what else? She needs to really focus on a few key issues now.

Mark Kelly will be VP. A dem will be appointed to replace him and then in 2026 years Kari Lake will run for his seat (after losing in 2024) and Dems will hold. I'm speaking it into existence.

That is my only fear with Kelly, is that he would be losing his seat. He would be beneficial as Arizona is a swing state AND his astronaut background would be nostalgic for older voters, too. I think he is charismatic and likable, and obviously popular in his state.

This is what I've been trying to say ever since she became the (likely) presidential candidate. She needs a SOLID platform that acknowledges the problems faced by Americans and proposes policies aimed at solving those problems.

Β

She can't win by poiting out Trump's flaws/crimes. She needs to bring to the table actual solutions. This felon-prosecutor schtick won't win her any new supporters.

Yep, I think abortion, fighting inflation, and rent controls should be her message.

Harris has been in the race for less than 48 hours. If she still doesn't have a detailed platform by the convention then I'll give you that.Β

Honestly it just seems like we won't know anything until the pick. ABC News reporting that Beshear is on the consideration list

Not the Democratic Party in 2024 thinking two women on a ticket is wrong...

Trump/Vance had their first sit down interview on Fox News last night and it made ZERO noise :rip:Β :rip:Β

Huh? Did you mean to reply to my post? I said it was common sense that they would be the Top 4. Whitmer would be a great choice. But common sense tells you that the Harris campaign wouldn't vet her seriously just like they wouldn't vet Buttigieg or Priztker seriously. The Top 4 were laid out for the campaign before she even announced her candidacy.Β

Because no one likes Vance πŸ’€ not even Trump does.

I know he's speaking earlier in the day but Biden doing his address the same day is gonna wipe away any media coverage of his visit. I doubt it's just a coincidenceΒ πŸ’€

I caught some clips earlier and it was awful. Trump was all me, me, me. He was asked why he chose Vance and he made it about himself. He barely let Vance talk :rip:Β  Vance just stared at him like that cult gaze/Duggar stare.Β

Would it be legal for the Trump campaign to drop Vance and swap in someone else? He is a huge liability. Otherwise they should just hide him until January 21st.
