It feels like the Kamalanomenon will turn into a Kamala mirage as we approach November and realize that the Biden/Harris record still has plenty of critics. Kamala herself has never been a nationally popular figure and her track record will probably put off many Democrats and left-leaning Independents as we get closer. Let's also remember that many straight white men won't vote for a woman. 1 1

bunnyeyes Posted July 23 Posted July 23 (edited) @NausAllienย those congratulations they send out are routine whenever a non-right candidate wins, same format for all so it doesn't always take into account all intricacies. they also usually endorse whoever they think is going to win rather than the most LGBTQ friendly candidate. ย ย Anyways, RE: Shapiro. From what I remember basically they allegedly tricked activists into participating in an endorsement event where Josh Shapiro and his running mate Austin Davis were "endorsed" by LGBTQ activists but then it came out the activists felt misled into supporting Davis over openly gay State Rep. Brian Sims, who was also running for lieutenant governor. They were told the event was to discuss lgbtq protections but it was actually an endorsement event. Then Sims accused Shapiro of trying to push him out of the race and Shapiro's camp faced criticism for allegedly pressuring endorsements. Shapiro's campaign manager allegedly also called some of the activists before the event as well and after the call they believed that Sims had dropped out so they were moving on with Shapiro's pick, but that wasn't true. Also,ย during the endorsement event, concerns were raised about Shapiro potentially influencing Davis to join the LGBTQ Equality Caucus during the election campaign after not being in it ever just before the election was over in an attempt to appeal to LGBTQ voters but some felt it was an opportunistic and insincere gesture. It was especially gross becauseย Davis, Shapiro's running mate, was criticized for not protecting transgender inmates while serving on the Allegheny County Jail Oversight Board so he pushed a real ally out.ย ย https://www.inquirer.com/politics/clout/josh-shapiro-austin-david-brian-sims-20220310.html ย ย ย ย ย Edited July 23 by bunnyeyes 2
