And at what point does it backfire? That people will vote for Kamala just to say F U to the Republicans even if they don't really like her otherwise

Depends on how deeply they dig in. There's only a matter of time before it descends into outright "don't vote for her because she's black". They have nothing on her so they'll have to get more extreme. Thankfully, I think Kamala's team will be able to handle those attacks in a way that only bolsters her.

I'm glad Biden dropped out, but let's be realistic that Kamala still has an uphill battle.

Everyone is aware Kamala has her work cut out for her. Everyone is not aware why you were having a weird episode yesterday.Β

This is why Kamala is in such a perfect position. She can be out on the campaign trail ignoring this while Biden does his little Zionist thing. Dunno if it'll happen that way, but I have faith her team knows how to navigate this.

Charlie Kirk, who is pretty much working with Team Trump, was losing it this morning calling her "low IQ" "DEI hire" "slept to top" "radical"...etc. :rip:Β  Yawn... What a way to win suburban womenΒ :devil:Β He purposefully mispronounces her name too and it drives me insane.Β

After his fire today during his interview on Morning Joe, I will happily hop on the Beshear train if he's picked. Let's GOOOOOOO.

What does Beshear think about Gaza/Palestine? Would be nice to get someone who can solve that crisis

That would be ideal :ace:Β

Nancy is such a powerful individual figure in the democratic party holy.:bibliahh:

Apologies that I don't remember which one of you first said this a few days ago, but it's absolutely true that one plus side of running Kamala is that it will bring out just howΒ weirdΒ the modern GOP is. I think a lot of undecided suburbanites are tired of seeing takes from the GOP like "being a stepmom makes you not a real mother" and "people who laugh are inherently incompetent" :deadbanana:

I'm skeptical of the idea that "anybody will do better than Biden" and so Kamala sees an instant bump in the polls against Trump. Polls coming out post-announcement aren't reflecting that (and I try to ignore the noise online because it rarely translates to real life), but I guess we'll have to wait to see the impact of Kamala being out on the campaign trail. At the very least she can better advocate her positions than Biden. Also, depending on if Kamala chooses a young running mate, the age argument that's been used by Republicans the last few years immediately swings to the Democrats' favor.

Admittedly I haven't done a ton of digging, but he doesn't seem to be any more or less supportive than the average US politician (ie, strongly worded statements that have aged horribly back last October and then basically nothing since). He's certainly no Rashida Tlaib on the issue, but he's also not a Shapiro figure and hasn't really been tarnished as a zionist any more than any other politician. We'll have to see what Kamala sets as her specific message on Gaza, but I think Beshear is capable of getting into lockstep and I don't think he has skeletons in his closet of this issue. At the very least, I don't think he's likely to drive any voters away wrt Gaza that weren't already holding back because of Kamala.Β

Kamala's unpopularity is real, but it is also weak and malleable in comparison to that of other hated figures like Biden, Clinton and Trump. Most voters outside of the hardcore democratic base don't actually know her that well. I am hopeful that her favorability numbers can improve rapidly - I mean hell, look how quickly this threads hardcore leftists have warmed to her as a better alternative to Biden.Β

I mean... it's not the VP's job to solve that lol. He's also a Kentuckian who cares about America and its people more than anything international.

TBH, it's not possible for any detailed polls to already exist lol. All the polls coming out are either polls that were done as hypotheticals or instant flash polls. We probably won't get anything concrete for at least a few months.

Oh, what a coincidence, a poll will be coming out soon that'll pit Harris against Trump. This is a PA state poll so it's pretty important. I wish Kamala had a VP picked out already so this poll would be even more accurate. I'm not expecting much right out the gate.

This is kind of a cute interaction. Customer implies they want someone to fight against Trump so they'd be willing to vote for Kamala imo! Gotta get the message out ASAP.
