I don't understand how people can say nominating Kamala would be a "coronation". She's literally the Vice President, next in line.ย :deadbanana: If Biden died tomorrow, she would be president. How would she not be the nominee in this situation?ย

ย

It would be one thing if the primaries didn't pass already, but they did. We're literally in a "break glass in case of emergency" situation.ย

She better pick Beshear... He's the epitome of harmless white straight guy from the MidWest with a family and a dog that could bring some sense of "moderate approach" to an eventual Harris administration (and that could also convince independent voters to vote for the ticket)

ย

Plus there's no downside in choosing him as his time in Kentucky is done.

Also thank god we had an earlier than normal debate this year. Imagine if the Biden debate performance didn't happen until September.ย :deadbanana:

By this logic why not go with who got the second most votes in the primary as "next in line" since the POTUS line of succession is separate from who the nominee is.ย

Are you being intentionally obtuse?

Kamala is not the nominee. Sorry, but the Democratic Party should've allowed a blitz primary to show us who our choices are. This does feel anti-Democratic.ย

Biden said he wanted to pick a black woman VP in 2020 before he announced her. it was a coronation then and it's a coronation now.

I'm sorry but I'm glad this lunatic looks like an idiot now. Literally one of the worst Blue Anon accounts out there. A literal former Republican.ย

What feels weird about Kamala being all of sudden the Dem nominee is because she was a weird pick for VP. Biden essentially picked someone that got 1% of the votes and didn't even make it to the PRIMARIES. Even Amy Klobuchar would have made more sense.

ย

Kamala is the nominee but she was never voted to be a presidential candidate. I haven't checked but I'm pretty sure it's a first.ย

So we can all agree Biden's debate performance was the worst in history. It literally took him OUT of the race.ย

ย

Hell yeah it's definitely gonna be in history books and studied like the Kennedy-Nixon debateย

She's not the nominee until the convention, but it does feel very odd.ย

So she's going to earn the nomination but the Democratic Party is discouraging anyone from challenging her because it'll be "political suicide" then?
