The delegates are already lining up to throw their votes behind her.

If a formal convention-type show is what you want, it's what we'll get. It's all just a formality at this point. If anything, it's just going to be a showing of the greatest case of Dem UNITY we've seen since Obama. It'll only bolster Harris.

Exactly! Pelosi has been puppeteering this whole thing. By Monday morning, all delegates will be informally pledged. The DNC will be about the party being unified, recognising Biden's brave decision to put country over self, and beating Trump. There won't be a contested convention. That would be terrible for the party and Pelosi would not allow it. The party will be unified and a clear signal to the Republicans that they are ready to WIN will be the theme of the night.ย

And if she loses the Dems will have to rely on the chaos of Trump's next term on healthcare (ACA gone), the economy (tariffs), the rule of law (SCOTUS support, Obergefell gone), foreign policy (Gaza leveled, Ukraine part of Russia) as opposed to candidate strength because I genuinely don't know what Gretchen Whitmer will plan to do. The Dems will have to go the route of either Mark Kelly or Wes Moore (if Kamala's picked Shapiro because then he'll be damaged goods).ย

If she loses, we won't have a 2028 election so we don't have to worry lol. :deadbanana2:

I mean, can we slightly unpack this hypothetical? I'm not a lawyer or constitutional scholar and I have a headache but I suppose we have to rely on Roberts Kavanaugh and Barrett only to not let this happen?

If only Kassi was still here to celebrate Nancy's achievement in orchestrating the events of todayย :deadbanana4:

Eh, he implied the Palestinians had it coming for the now 186,000 dead so I'm kind of in the good riddance phase.

I mean, maybe I'm being hyperbolic, but I do believe the only thing that keeps our gov't and electoral system functioning is having an administration dedicated to keeping those things functioning. Trump and the loyalists he will install at every level of the gov't will not have a vested interest in those systems functioning because it'll be his last Constitutional term and he will be forced out. If we take a look at 2020, the only reason he didn't succeed at circumventing the election was because a small handful of people he had appointed refused to go along with his plans. Had they fallen in line, there was a big possibility of his plan working. Trump exposed a huge vulnerability in our gov't, at least on the Executive side of things, that most everything we thought was a law or a strict rule the President must abide by was actually just a suggestion and all these years relied on having a President who simply wanted to be "good" or do "good" by the American people. We now know all it takes for the Executive branch to rule all is having someone in power who wants to rule all, which Trump does.ย  If he wins in November, there is a case to be made that he has the power to just stop democracy in the form we currently have. If every facet of the gov't is ran by his loyalists, those in power of the electoral system itself will be controlled by him, and the powers that have the ability to stop him from going rogue... will also be controlled by him. Who stops a President from going rogue? The military? Congress? DOJ? FBI? CIA? SCOTUS? Maybe. But what happens when all of those powers are fronted by Trump loyalists?

Sorry but how is this not a coronation if NO ONE is allowed to challenge Kamala for delegates?ย

Am I missing something? Where is it written that no one's allowed to challenge her for delegates?

Sis, they're allowed, they're just not going to because it would be political suicide. Most rational people understand how important unity is over Ego. Put the EGO aside for the good of the American people.

Let's see Manchin, Harris and Williamson all debate at the convention. Make it America's Next Top Candidate.ย
