Eat The Acid Posted July 21 Posted July 21 The only reason there will be an open convention is for optics. They're roll calling delegates for Kamala as we speak. The convention is formality only. Kamala is the nominee.ย 1
jakeisphat Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Newsom endorsing her makes complete sense because it gives him an early answer on whether he will have to fight her in a 2028 primary. I imagine Whitmer will follow suit.ย
Thickorita Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Imagine turning back the time 4 years and telling us during the primary that Pete and Klobmentum are endorsing Kamala before Bernieย
Sannie Posted July 21 Posted July 21 ย They. Are. In. Shambles. ย They spent four years telling us Joe Biden was not fit for President and now that he called their bluff and was like, "sure, I'll drop out," they don't know what to do. 1 3

Blade Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Why is twitter thinking Buttigieg is a serious contender for VP? He's barely even Top 5 if that..

Sannie Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Imagine if Harris wins... it would mean we officially won the culture war. Trump losing to "Sleepy Joe" and "DEI Harris".ย

Knowing his age - they easily knew they could be voting Harris too.ย ย Now - the legitimacy of that primary is another question. However, if Biden is a valid nominee after it - so is Kamala.ย No, she was not chosen to be a replacement nominee, she is VP. The decision lies in the delegates hands now, it doesn't automatically go to Harris.ย

It's all just a formality at this point. If anything, it's just going to be a showing of the greatest case of Dem UNITY we've seen since Obama. It'll only bolster Harris. 5

Sannie Posted July 21 Posted July 21 I'm trying not too get too excited because we still need to see what she's going to do VP-wise. Today has felt like a fever dream too good to be true; Dems feeling energized, Act Blue receiving a record amount of donations, and now Dems uniting behind Harris in a way that all the "leaks" and "rumors" made feel impossible. Come on, KHIVE, let's do this.
Vermillion Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Just now, Sannie said: Imagine if Harris wins... it would mean we officially won the culture war. Trump losing to "Sleepy Joe" and "DEI Harris".ย And if she loses the Dems will have to rely on the chaos of Trump's next term on healthcare (ACA gone), the economy (tariffs), the rule of law (SCOTUS support, Obergefell gone), foreign policy (Gaza leveled, Ukraine part of Russia) as opposed to candidate strength because I genuinely don't know what Gretchen Whitmer will plan to do. The Dems will have to go the route of either Mark Kelly or Wes Moore (if Kamala's picked Shapiro because then he'll be damaged goods).ย
