i might be naive but i truly believe that project '25 is even real

on the contrary, is making yall sound like those unhinged MAGA lunatics conspiracy theoriesย

what do you mean by "real"? its 900 pages of tangible policy proposals that you can read yourself. it was created by the same think tank whose decades long project was getting a right wing supreme court majority and it latched onto trump to do it which it was obviously quite successful at. would all of it be implemented if (when) trump isย elected? no, obviously not. it would basically be impossible to push through so much impactful policy quickly, but given that trump has no real policy vision or preferences really, it paints the picture for the sort of stuff trump's various hangers on and decision makers in the white house and sycophants in congress will be working towards.ย

I hate to continue beating a dead horse but the media coverage alone from Biden stepping outside and making Kamala the nominee would be enough to drown out Trump and his cronies. Doing it the day of the Republican convention would be iconic behavior. Not only would most of the media coverage skew towards Democrats but the Republicans would have to cancel/rework their Biden speeches and attacks at the very last minute. Kamala straight up ending him at the debate and exposing Trump as just ANOTHER senile old man with no business running the country would dominate headlines leading up to the election. The Democrats aren't acting like they want this moment in history I'm afraid.ย

ย

But anyways back to reality and unfortunately Biden did somewhat decent enough for his team to advise him to stay in the race and the polls tightening up don't help either. Looks like we're gonna be stuck with him. I might just go off the grid on election night I don't even wanna witness itย :doc:

It should be alarming that Biden's EC ceiling is 278 while that is Trump's average.

I'm not alarmed or surprised. It's just deja vu to earlier conversations on here. Idk.

The house members needed Nancy's OK, which really says it all.ย

ย

And then Jeffries took Nancy's lead by not outright rejecting his run and not giving full throat support either.

ย

The only things keeping Biden in are donors and the congressional black caucus. you've got anonymous CBC members saying they're nervous but not coming forward on the record. You've got donors freezing tens of millions in pledges to the PAC.

ย

If Biden's going down in the next two weeks, it's the money that's going to speak first.

ย

I think he's staying in.
