I love Tammy Duckworth. Honestly she would be a great candidate for President.ย

Well now we're to the inevitably awkward, non-PC conversation I knew was coming on Biden feeling like he "owed" black women after South Carolina.

ย

Which gets all the more awkward after two years of Kamala's own still currentย staffers trashing her anonymously to Politico as having no input on speeches and never reading security briefs :coffee2:ย

ย

I don't think it was a strategy to box in Bernie who was sparring with Liz but that happened to come as an added benefit in an effort to already try to appease the base.

ย

Which makes @ClashAndBurn's comments about revenge that much more ironic. Give the public the illusion he's elevating her to make up forโ€ฆAnita Hill?????โ€ฆ.when in reality he wanted to box KAMALA in with an absurd issue portfolio.

ย

So now she's improved, had her team disagree anonymously to the press on Gaza, and (if this actually happens and she somehow succeeds on the follow through), gets her revenge. :rip:ย

Oh don't get me wrong. I don't feel that Kamala has unseen political savvy that is being obscured by her impossible portfolio not allowing her to shine. In the contrary, I think that she had obvious weaknesses, and putting her, a California Democrat to his left on immigration, in charge of the borderโ€ฆ highlights her flaws to make her less appealing to the xenophobic anti-immigration median voter than she already was, ensuring there was no path for her to surpass him as "the only one who can beat Trump" in 2024.

I'm still distracted by Clarence literally being bought off by Putin, sorry.

ย

If there was actual evidence of a problem shown in the data of meaning I'd care more. I am aware of the bill though.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious he doesn't like Kamala especially after she almost destroyed his campaignย and calculated that he could keep her at bay from outshining him in exchange for a 2028 endorsement. I'm at honestly glad he was pressured to select a woman with black heritage because he probably wouldn't have done so otherwise and there are so many capable Black women in this country.

ย

He set up Kamala by not letting her get any notable projects and then putting her on immigration when she spoke out to punish her knowing it was a no-win for anyone. Literally a veep plotpoint.ย
ย

I also think Tammy D. would do well in an executive role.ย

It was reported that Kamala was extremely picky about which projects she would accept. She dropped finding the root cause of immigration the second she was receiving negative coverage for it. Then she begged to be put in charge of the John Lewis Voting Act, which was pretty much dead on arrival. She wanted big flashy projects with zero substance.ย
ย

I will push back on you a little. She was overseeing a split 50-50 Senate. She wasn't really able to travel because she needed to stay in DC in case she needed to make a tie breaking vote. She has made the most tie breaking votes in historyย

That's fair; I don't think this was one sided tension and obviously her staffers talking bad about her constantly doesn't paint the best picture.

Can Jil Biden lowkey save the election? she is everywhere this week

Biden's first choice was Whitmer. She told him to choose Kamala. Along with Whitmer and Harris, Warren & Susan Rice also made it to the final round. Tammy Duckworth was also on the list but wasn't chosen because they were worried partisan judges would strike her from ballots due to her not being born in the US despite her obviously being an American citizenย

I remember the sourcing on the Whitmer quote being from a rival's camp, which is ironic given that's the same form of source saying she told Biden's aide he'd lose Michigan after the first debate. She never confirmed the first quote on the record by the way. Sheย didย deny the second quote yesterday on The View while promoting her book.

She's the first person I'm blaming when the ACA gets overturned next year.

ย

Followed in a close second by Hunter, whose apparently become Joe's new Chief of Staff by the way given his patching in to recent conference calls without a security clearance.

Meanwhile, the DNC already has Rashida Tlaib lined up as their scapegoat and their next target to suggest AIPAC, I'm sure. I have very little faith that Cori Bush and Ilhan Omar will survive the Blue MAGA purge in August after they were invigorated and vindicated by Bowman's embarrassing loss, but we'll see. AOC and Ayanna have already bent the knee, and Summer Lee will probably suit, so they're not any real threat.
