I was actually thinking this the other day. We don't know, but it's possible.

 

SM tried to blacklist JYJ from the acting world like they did in the music world in Korea, but they couldn't because they didn't have that kind of reach. But Hybe is a much bigger conglomerate.

 

 

From selling 40 albums first week to selling 100K. The power of a BL drama. No wonder they're exploding in Korea.

 

I see GL is getting bigger too. I wonder whether we'll see idol companies throw their idols into these roles?

A kii how all of these companies went girl crush for their groups, hoping to achieve even a fraction of BP's global success, then here comes IVE with a concept & sound completely opposite of BP's literally stomping on everyone else globally 

Granted I don't think they're BP level yet but for a rookie girl group from a non-big4 company their numbers are really impressive.

omg i could see that happened tbh. HYBE in their high horse were 100% sure no one would reject their offer and probably already got some major investors in but hearing Minju rejected the offer, some of the investors maybe opted out of it and that makes HYBE mad. But we wouldn't have gotten Kazuha if Minju didn't join, right? Wish i'm wrong and Minju could book some roles soon.

Chaeyeon, Yena, Yuri all have roles in webdramas & they were never as popular as her. Even Hyewon has one  You're right she was right behind Wonyoung when it came to GP popularity in the group, it's sad to see it not be capitalized on. 

 

Starting to think Sakura & Chaewon had no choice but to join HYBE, or that they were heavily pressured to join.

Yeah it doesn't make any sense tbh. Even Hyewon which usually makes videos with other Izone members haven't featured Minju iirc. It feels like UW is keeping her jobless on purpose. Maybe HYBE bribed UW so that Minju will suffer and feeling regret for refusing their offer. Not surprised if that really happened, men in entertainment industry can be really nasty

i wouldnt say their concept is the complete opposite though

it's kinda like blackpink but more palatable for audiences who aren't into girl crush at all (for example: me)

a perfect balance between non-threatening, cutesy, girly and cool, fashionable, empowering, etc.

 

i agree with the sound though, i'm glad it's the complete opposite of BP's unlistenable noise
