No one is touching BP’s numbers globally such as sales, streams, views, charts, popularity etc., like the gap is so big 

 

BP literally is the most balanced Kpop group in terms of success, since they are successful in every metric

I think people are just comparing NJ with BP just because both their debut success was quite similar and now NJ seems to be getting bigger judging by those Spotify numbers. They ain’t replacing BP anytime soon though. 

now I’m curious to see how IVE will do. If they can’t match that success with their next cb, I think it’s fair to say NJ will be BP’s successors….although it’s kinda early to tell.

I'll wait another year, It's too early to denote them as Blackpink successors, most new girl groups are hot for one year and then underperform, look at ITZY, also Baemon is coming. They could be the next BP too.

NewJeans won’t be BP sucessors. There are groups like aespa, (G)-Idle and ITZY already that follow the BP print.  NewJeans is more like TWICE + Red Velvet, there’s 0 BP in them. They’re probably going be the next BIG girl group tho.

it’s not about the formula and their music style, it’s about the girls’ charisma and uniquess, they have that natural something and it factor that makes them stand out among all kpop groups and we have a lot of those 

 

like, they were able to gather a lot of interest right off the bat, all girls are equally interesting and they kinda started „the revolution”, like, are the clear sensation of their gens

 

at least that’s why I’m comparing both groups and see NJ as potential BP’s successors 

 

they have all of the things to be the next staple and representative gg of their generation, the team behind them just needs to play it right since people are clearly there for them

Well, I agree. But even when it comes to success, they seem to be following a different trajectory from BP. Yes, they both have successful debuts but BP wasn’t considered the top GG WW until 2018 and the top GG in Korea until 2020. NewJeans is a phenomenon, BP was a slow burner especially in Korea (yes, it’s YG’s fault / strategy but it’s what it is). NewJeans is much more like Wonder Girls, TWICE, 2NE1 - phenomenons.

I saw big armys accounts tweeting about NJ and a lot of them support them and token stan them. And that’s why some armys are fuming. You just have to go on twitter. A lot of NJ fans are Hybe fans, just like a lot of group from the big 4.
 

LSRFM are not liked by the armys especially the karmys even since they filmed in a luxurious hotel. They accused them to enjoying too much Bts money .

IVE are the New Twice. Their popularity in Japan is so big. I’m waiting for NJ next sales but IVE are a monster seller and they might sell 2millions next cb.

 

+ the Gallup ranking showed that IVE was bigger than NJ
