Does anyone know why IVE is doing so much better than LSFM in Japan? I thought Sakura was a big cash cow there, plus they have queenzura whose Japanese too

LSFM has yet to officially debut with Japanese music unlike IVE which already started. Also, IVE is probably really big too since they also have tow IZONE members which was a big group in japan

Well in Korea at least, Velvet has always been less successful than Red. On Gaon, their top songs are Red songs.

Internationally Velvet is clearly more successful, so it's a tug of war between the two sides. Korea normally prefers the Red side, though obviously songs like Umpah Umpah failed to connect with the public. Birthday is falling into that category it seems.

But the beauty of Red Velvet's concept is they're never stuck in one lane, which is why they always seem to re-smash.

Also I feel like we're just gonna get a repackage of Feel My Rhythm and Birthday for the next release. I hope not, but that's what they did with the last ReVe Festival.

I mean Psycho is their second biggest hit. And Bad Boy is bigger than all the red songs released after it besides FMR maybe. So I think as of recently, it's safe to say that the velvet side is more likely to land a bigger hit than red. And I love that they don't stick to one lane either but...its legitimately crazy to think we got Automatic from them 7 months from debut vs Birthday 8 years after.

Their recent red songs although I like PU, UU, Queendom and Birthday they've honestly fallen short of their earlier material and the disparity of the two sides is kinda annoying me since the velvet singles for awhile now imo have been better than the recent red songs but would also align with their ages more. I honestly wish we could get more velvet songs nowadays since it's more successful all around.

i SAID rv should have disbanded after Psycho and got dragged, that way they'd at least still have a quality discography :santa:

And Loona shouldn't have debuted at all seeing as all their quality songs were released before debut. Should've called it a wrap after Heart Attack :santa:

2023 for 4th gen ggs will be interesting since basically all of the companies already debuted their 4th gen ggs and the next year they all will be competing with each other equally

that's why baby monsters might sweep all the rookie awards because they won't have much competition except for smngg maybe (but I doubt that SM will debut one more girl group)

I love my RV girlies but they are almost 40 years old, can they start singing about getting DP or BJs?? Can't believe their most sensual song lyrically was released when Yeri was like 15:rip:

GOT :deadbanana: They were truly more successful than we thought

It means that we will probably get more from them too :deadbanana2:

All they have to do is convince Yawn to get her dusty old bones to dance rehearsals

The way SM already confirmed a SuperM comeback that no one wants while GOT the beat is just sitting there is criminal.

Antifragile is actually doing better than After Like so far, I feel like people just didn't know Sakura was in the group at first, so many people found out through the Kohaku mess :rip: but yeah we'll have to wait and see

the dusty ass “RV retire!!!” conversation again :dies:

they still managed a domestic smash this year on top of the aforementioned album sales, Birthday the song flopping isn’t ending them especially with a major festival (Primavera Sound) booked next year

FMR was a beautiful title track and the most effective & innovative of the year’s classical interpolations, and the b-sides remain strong even after Psycho

give it up deelishis

LD was a top 5 hit. And has reached 100M streams same goes to eleven it seems like AF will be bigger than AL. but even without their debut they were still bigger.
i think Izone had a big fanbase but compared to LSRF and IVE they didn’t seem that huge among the GP.

All of them dragging Felix for still being bronze on LoL after playing for 2 years :bibliahh:

The thing I love about Felix, is that he's so sweet, pure and down to earth, which is something you wouldn't expect, by listening to their songs :dies:

The way he's by far the most known and recognized 4th gen male idol, and yet he's so humble and chill :clap3:

He's by far the hottest member of SVT, even hotter than Mingyu, and one of the hottest male idols of all time :loki:

Today was the first court hearing for OMEGA X’s application to end their exclusive contract with Spire Entertainment. The members expressed to the press that they were nervous but trusting for the best results.

Important points:

Spire claimed that they will give OMEGA X a new set of staff and begged for “one more chance”.

Spire argued that the claims of sexual harassment are groundless because the members called CEO Kang “Mom” and said “i love you” to her.

OMEGA X revealed they had not received any settlement after the tour concluded. Spire Entertainment claimed that OMEGA X’s albums had not generated any revenue, and the tour had not been settled.

The court ordered that both the members and Spire submit additional contract documentation, regarding exclusive contracts VS consignment contracts.

The members must submit their information by Dec 14, and Spire by Dec 21. The next trial date will be set later.

OMEGA X plan to submit recordings from August as additional evidence.

Already begging?

Understand your point, esp because the cute sound in the Korean market was strong when they debuted and red flavour is their biggest and best know hit over there

but they’ve put out waaaay more songs for red it’s not a fair comparison. Every velvet song is smashed beside the uninspired hookless mess they did pre-PRV. Every velvet song has been successful both in Korea and with int fans.
