I am not sure why you are writing this piece, but Billboard changed the rules of singles chart because of BTS, but not album chart. Let’s not invent new narrative.

 

Album chart rules were changed because bundling practices were getting ridiculous. BTS is literally only Korean group that hasn’t used excessive bundling.

'Aespa have no stage presence' has honestly been a false narrative since the beginning. It's just that pre-recorded vocal performances are naturally lifeless and robotic with pretty much any group, and that's all they did for 18 months When they sing live their stage presence is not meaningfully different to any other K-pop group. Blackpink's performances where they don't sing live are also overall flat, and that's even with Lisa serving face and choreo non-stop.

 

The 'stony faced' criticism of Winter always gets me too bc there are many idols who are like that. So many. I think it's a deliberate choice honestly.

 

Also for the record that Jimmy Kimmel Shut Down performance is for sure a live vocal, just with very heavy backtrack.

Winter smiled three times and that made you believe she developed some crazy charisma? and that’s one of her good days 

same for Karina, she serves beautiful picture perfect face and good dancing and then what? where is the it factor? 

 

they look like they are scared of anyone catching a bad frame of their face

they never add personal flavor to the choreo (Winter did a bit in the first vid, I admit) 

always the same tired perfectly done choreo and pre recorded vocals - you can watch one performance and be sure that 80% of the remaining ones will be exactly the same, what’s so charismatic about that?

I should specify that more precisely in the first post, I didn’t mean bundle rule, just singles chart change

 

then I wanted to point out crowdfunding of both albums and singles, but as I said it’s something that most big fanbases do, BTS and Armys have just a bigger pull - because some people here have the audacity to point out that Blinks are doing this too as if they are the only fandom to practice it

Their album sales are also a little fishy, they've already sold 300k on hanteo but pre-orders were only 50k from cbars & 40k on ktown4u.

By the current trend of albums sales that’s not surprising but I don’t get the huge sales since they have a tiny fandom JYP stans can’t carry all the sales. 
However their c-fans ordered 70k sales, c-fans are carrying KPOP tbh. 
 

Blackpink are underperforming because they sold less in the US but twice are declining too because they aren’t doing well in Korea while they’re growing everywhere

I agree, but since aespa has not so many live performances it’s hard to state that they are charismatic and interesting, especially more than BP  

 

I agree with the Winter statement too, but then those other idols are not praised to the heavens or crowned as an it girls or charismatic ones in their respective groups (and Winter is serving as part of the charismatic lineup apparently )

 

also singing to the pre recorded vocals can be pulling too if you have charismatic and energetic lineup which was proved by NJ - all of their stages are absolutely amazing and those girls really look like they truly enjoy every second of being on stage

winter showed way more than that and was energetic the whole performance , so was karina so idg where u are coming from for the charisma and lack of it factor? literally most kpop performance from the ones people here present explaining energetic performances serve similarly to this
