The biggest factor is, I feel, that she needs to announce it and open preorders a few months in advance including vinyls. A few Stan’s might cry about it, but it’s the surest path to the million mark. Vinyls first week, a single that actually makes some waves in a positive way, decent promo on the week it drops, and a little critical acclaim - perfect storm. She’s right at the perfect moment for the lightning to strike - the Red TV era has proven that! I think at this point a new album won’t come until at least November, and maybe not until the rerecordings are done, but I have a hard time believing the goodwill she’s built lately will fade in that time. The real question is kinda whether 1989 TV could do it, tbh Yeah with the best promotion of her career she can. I also hope she leaves the gimmicks for lead single aka LWYMMD / YNTCD or ME!. Just drop the most radio friendly as lead single. I hope she is over the DYI era. Hopefully TS10 will have fresh producers and I would have like 5-7 producers with 2 songs each. 1989 succeeded imo because it had variety at producers unlike reputation and Lover.

Every studio album since Red except for reputation and evermore had unique producers to help define the sound of that era, so I think it’s safe to say TS10 will as well. First-Time Collaborators per Album: Red: Wilson (Treacherous, Come Back…), Lee (The Last Time), Bhasker (Holy Ground, Lucky One), Walker (Everything Has Changed), Max Martin (22, Trouble, WANEGOD). 1989: Tedder (W2NY, I Know Places), Heap (Clean), Antonoff (Out of the Woods, You Are In Love, I Wish You Would). Lover: Little (The Man, ME!, YNTCD, Miss Americana), Bell/Dukes (IFTYE, …Have A Friend, Afterglow). folklore: Dessner (11/17) Chapman, Martin, Antonoff, and Dessner are the only producers she’s worked with on multiple albums. Notably, Max and Jack both started with 3 songs on one album before doing most of the following albums (Max went 3-9-9-OUT, while Jack went 3-6-11-7-1). It’s like she introduced them, liked working with them, and then brought them back to establish the core of her next projects. Kinda makes me wonder if we’ll see less of Jack on TS10, but I expect she’ll keep him; Dessner’s sound isn’t mainstream enough, she bombed with Little and Bell/Dukes, and I think that she’ll want an established collaborator doing the bulk of the work on TS10. Maybe the album will be mostly done by Dessner and Jack, while some other hitmakers are brought in to do the singles. reputation was all Martin and Antonoff because she created it from a safe space and wasn’t bringing anybody new on board (but I am curious if there’s material with other writers/producers in the vault), while evermore was all Dessner save like one Antonoff song because it was a companion to folklore.
pccp Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 I am waiting for a boom era like 1989 . an era of over 1M copies first week, over 10 weeks the album was at number 1, breaking streaming records and becoming the most streamed female album on Spotify. with hit singles spending weeks at number 1 . can that happen?

Well true but Afterglow is actually one of her best songs and I would have her work more with Louis and Frank. And yes I don't care who will produce the album tracks but singles at least should be produced by mainstream producers and unfortunately Jack can't pull that off. 11 minutes ago, pccp said: I am waiting for a boom era like 1989 . an era of over 1M copies first week, over 10 weeks the album was at number 1, breaking streaming records and becoming the most streamed female album on Spotify. with hit singles spending weeks at number 1 . can that happen? 1m units first week is a stretch but the other things can be achieved apart most streamed female album (unless you mean on the release year which she definitely can pull it off). folklore was #1 for 8 weeks so another ~10 weeks #1 with great promo can still be achieved. Honestly she definitely still can score hits. She just needs the right song.

I mean, folklore managed 800k with no album on shelves, 8 weeks at #1 with limited promo, and broke streaming records, all without hit singles so…

Gork Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Anyone knows when we can find out if she is finally going to this year's MET gala??
State of Grace. Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 (edited) Afterglow and Friend are both amazing highlights. Even I Forgot That My Talent Existed has nice production, but Taylor herself was the problem It's kinda hilarious to me how she worked with Frank & Louis who are arguably two of the best/biggest hitmakers then released those diabolical songs as singles instead. I was expecting some excellence like Post's Better Now after she publicly stanned for that song Edited April 24, 2022 by State of Grace.

Gork Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 I still wonder why that remix of The Joker and The Queen happened…

It has stellar recurrent streams despite being low on the tracklist and in the middle of those songs. 14 minutes ago, pccp said: I need hit singles like Blank Space , Shake It Off , You Belong With Me Let's pray.
GiftFromGod Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Taylor really WASTED all the hype and anticipation with ME! All she needed was a decent song and Lover's lead single would have been a global smash hit.
19SLAYty9 Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Honestly, I just want her to properly reunite with max for some songs.

She really had them produce some of the least single material songs

On The Bound Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 honestly ME! release was traumatic on all accounts but im kinda glad we got it over with because Taylor will never make the mistake of releasing a horrendous lead again. she learned ha lesson TS10 era is gonna be such a sight to behold, she's really the biggest she's been since 1989, I expect her to not **** up the rollout
