gagacasanova Posted December 14 Posted December 14 Just finished watching the new behind the scenes videos and honestly... the director side of Taylor has me THRIVING vicariously through her. 3
19SLAYty9 Posted December 14 Posted December 14 Tbh I do think her next album will be a visual album with the visuals being released on Spotify so they count for streams as there's rumors of Spotify having videos available soon
mael Posted December 14 Posted December 14 (edited) The way the most iconic thing(friendship bracelets) came from a lyric in a song that wasn't even on the setlist... Oh I do wish bad karma on Her sometimes.... Edited December 14 by mael 3
Tusk Posted December 14 Posted December 14 I'm just amazed at her career turn-around within the past 5 years. This time in 2019: -We had 30 something trying to cling on to youth by wearing atrocious outfits and dyeing her hair with pink and blue -An Album titled "Lover" but it was just anxiety inducing songs mixed with pop sounds -A first single that was slammed by critics and fans alike -A disastrous role in one of the biggest flops of the year -Her circle of friends at that time, which included Toderick Hall .....long story short, I survived 5 8
IBeMe Posted December 14 Posted December 14 been obsessively watching interviews and reading up on Celine's peak period of 1996-2000 when she sold 100M (or 130M if you count Titanic soundtrack as hers too) albums WW in a matter of 4 ish years and I kinda would love if Taylor would follow in her footsteps once Celine wanted to wind down and take a bit of a break after her huge peak. Celine released a Xmas album and then did a nice (and REALLY succesful) CBS special concert. In Taylor's case, once she releases the last two TVs and possibly TS12 I'd love for her to do a cozy xmas album and also a streaming service special concert. i'd imagine it'd be in 2026. Time it all for November 2026 and then she can take her break from music to focus on her family and her film (if she is still pursuing those things by that time)

Maybe taking a break from touring, but writing music is her lifeline. I really don't see a "break" in the near future. 1

I think it felt like a betrayal, and it was an awful time for the fans as well. The onslaught of hate was constant, with daily viral tweets attacking her (a rarity back then). However, it also strengthened the core of her fanbase and helped the fans develop skills they never thought they'd need. 1

Kyle-x Posted December 16 Posted December 16 Biggest popstar on earth casting a trans man as her love interest in her music video at a time where trans people are being routinely attacked in the media and by bigoted policymakers... oh miss Swift we have to give you your flowers 9
Dear Reader Posted December 16 Posted December 16 omg I don't know if it's the cold, but why is this song sounding like a masterpiece? This can't be true, I used to be a certified Obsessed Fork Knife Hater 2

Everyone rejected it for a reason. If you decide to go back to Fortnight out of this 31 songs album, instead of about 27 other songs, that's on you. Spoiler I'll give you that the outro is decent. But the rest? Nah. Poor lyricism (some good lines, but they don't amount to anything), boring production, disappointing visuals... but have fun! It's nice to see that some people are enjoying it. Shows that there's something for everyone. 1 2

I'll have this bookmarked so we can address it in a year or two and you can reconcile your Faithnight-loving self then with the pressed and obsessed hater you are now. You will see he light, I know it in my spirit Spoiler The whole point of the slog building to the outro is the payoff and the anticipation. You've got to ruminate in Matty Healy's sweater comments at the mailbox before you can truly experience the outro in its orgasmic glory. The reason it was rejected by the GeePee is because they're frequently mindless sheep who want an immediate catchy hook and don't hold the capacity to truly understand and enjoy a work of brilliance like Faithnight. I know you have the capacity, you're just choosing not to use it for some reason. Hence, I know one day you'll come to see the error in your ways and will return to the light 3

Dear John is a song that pays off tremendously through building and building and building. Fortnight has to be mid all the way through so that the outro can carry its own and be decent. Spoiler And you know damn well I've been mad at and hating this song since the leak of the album. So if even the excitement of a new release couldn't make me delusionally like the song, what makes you think time could do it any favor? 2

Arrows Posted December 16 Posted December 16 The Prophecy is dangerously close to a top 3 all-time placement for me 1
Arrows Posted December 16 Posted December 16 Epiphany is still a masterpiece that I can't believe she pulled off. I am yet to listen to it once without goosebumps and teary eyes, which is why I don't listen to it often... A song being able to do that after all these years is extremely rare for me. 5
on the line Posted December 16 Posted December 16 Fortnight is a great song, and all my non-Swiftie friends were obsessed with it this summer. I think it's not given as much credit as it deserves because 1) it was released when there was already some burnout with Taylor and 2) it was released at the same time with 30 other songs on a double album. 4
