Taylor fanboy Posted June 22 Posted June 22 I just realized that for Taylor, the "don't meet your idol" prophecy applies to her and Charli. She loved Charli and I'm not sure if there's a misunderstanding between them.

Achilles. Posted June 24 Author Posted June 24 folklore just became my sixth album of all time, and first album in a decade, to hit 6000 plays. "peace" had the honors of being the 6000th play. 2
Bosque Posted June 27 Posted June 27 Did they at some point upload a new version of Enchanted TV to Spotify? I hadn't listened to it since release day because the very first note she sings was totally botched. But it sounds much better now.
Achilles. Posted June 28 Author Posted June 28 "the 1" has entered my top 50 most played Taylor songs, replacing "This Love." It's the fourth song from folklore to enter my top 50.
Cleanromantic Posted June 29 Posted June 29 (edited) Does anyone remember that interview from debut era where Taylor is getting interviewed on like a stage and the female presenter's Mike stops working so a technician comes and starts fixing her Mike pad and the presenter is like "I don't even know that guy" and Taylor says "Well, you do now" then starts singing Our Song(?) Acapella with yhe audience to fill out the silence? Spoiler I'm watching so many debut era interviews and it's so interesting how she slowly built her persona starting with Fearless. Debut era Taylor was more irreverent and out there (Like her MySpace posts would show). It wasn't until Fearless era started that she adapted the classy, ladylike, old money role model persona that she kept for Fearless/ Speak Now/ Red, hence the dropping of the southern accent starting with fearless (that she probably considered too uncouth to keep with her classy persona ) Spoiler I'm not suggesting she's fake like the mentally deranged oth would suggest. I think every young person goes through personality fazes to discover themselves. I think Taylor's real personality settled with the Lover era, where she still had elements from each era. She could still talk **** like she did when she was 16-18, she still had the class of Fearless-speak now- Red, the worldliness of 1989 and the defensiveness of Rep, and all of it is rapped in a level headed adult form. It sounds the same as the uploaded YouTube videos from different uploaders. 1

For OG fans, this is really just it! Getting used to them. This generation's GP and the next ones will just get used to the TVs and move on. The GP of the previous gen listening to stolen have moved on from her, and will listen to what they have saved in their libraries or what the playlists have.
1989 Posted July 2 Posted July 2 The 1 just came on and without fail every time, it reminds me of where I was when I first hit play and heard it during the pandemic. Folklore you will literally always be famous 5

Dear Reader Posted July 2 Posted July 2 I love that the new OTH method is discrediting everything we say (facts) by calling us a cult or saying that no one else is streaming her songs (lies). I just put Fortnight and ICDIWABH playing in my office and every single person knew the songs because they play on the radio these false narratives are so funny cause that's all they can cling on to. 3
TaylorNation Posted July 2 Posted July 2 @Cleanromantic the downvote in the tour thread made me scream 1
Cruel Summer Posted July 4 Posted July 4 After the thread about her best song yesterday, Folklore is hitting me HARD today - oh I'm seeing the summer album vision, what a record, what a body of work 1

Cruel Summer Posted July 4 Posted July 4 12 minutes ago, Dear Reader said: folklore is such a summertime sadness album And honestly, it has so many layers to it that sort of just grow as you move through life. One factor, I guess, is that I recently moved back into the same place I lived in when Folklore was released, literally two doors down from the old apartment. And more than that - not to be weird and get too personal, but today, listening to The Last Great American Dynasty, I thought of my grandmother who passed last year. She was by no means wealthy, but she was a friend to some socialite types and existed sort of at the edges of the kind of life described in that song. It was a really neat moment of reflection and I'm happy that I'm getting to engage with some of Taylor's work in new ways. I really can't imagine a world without Folklore anymore. 4
