She performed “Afterglow” and I wasn’t there… :rip::deadvision::gaycat7:

I really hope she messed it up and sings it again in Munich or the last London dates (cuz I really need to hear that MASTERPIECE live):cries:

Guys, I need help. Didn't Jack talk about the "deja vu" credits situation on Twitter? I swear I can remember him commenting it but I can't find it anymore :huh:

Yeah, he said they were unaware they were getting credits until they got them.

Thank you but indeed, as @1989 said, I am 100% sure I read a tweet of him saying they didn't know about it (and he doesn't seem to say it in the interview unless I missed it...). Yet, I can't find anything, did he delete it? :huh:

I thought we would have to wait until 1989 TV but she is getting it now. Amazing :clap3:

I hate how Speak Now TV came and went. It deserved better than getting shunned yet again.

Oh that’s certainly possible, I’m not sure though. I feel like I can remember him tweeting about it vaguely but I’m not sure if I made that up or not.

I assume you might be referring to lack of push/promotional acknowledgement, but despite that the album is performing as good or better than Midnights in a lot of countries actually if you compare them at the same point (6-7 weeks after release) :gaycat2:

For example, it’s #21 in France whereas Midnights was #33 at the same point. Also #3 in Switzerland, and Midnights was #6 at the same point. It really is doing exceptionally well globally, so it’s nice to see the GP finally recognizing the album. SMASH Now!

I really hope she’s on her arts-over-charts game for TS11. With the level of success she’s currently seeing, it would be very hard for her to flop commercially. I hope the next album is something completely different and objectively excellent to prove to the world that she deserves every bit of the love she’s been getting this year. I’d love to hear more non-relationships/love music from her. I think she needs to challenge herself.

Y'all care too much about ATRL. Let them fume while Taylor remains, unequivocally, the biggest star in the world. Who cares? :skull:

I entirely agree. She's already shut every drags used against her since Midnights. Now the only way they can drag her is to make up stories about her being a petty ***** because she's threaten by Olivia, like please.

That said, I do want her to do something left-field for TS11. A switch in sound, or a change in topics covered, or both, or a real conceptual album in its structure, or whatever... just try something new because everything since 2021 (and probably all the way until the end of 2024) is about the past and what she has already done. This is the perfect opportunity to switch things up.

I thought I remembered him talking about it on Twitter too, but I can’t find it and now I do feel like I’m going insane. :biblio:

He 100% did because I used it when someone tried to drag them for the credits. I think it was on insta where he put they didn’t even know about it until they got them, I’m sure I still have an archive of it so I’ll check

It didn’t really come and go, it’s still getting 10m streams a day and sitting pretty in the top ten. Hopefully it’ll cross 2B this year :D

Taylor just has a lot of albums smashing right now so it doesn’t really define 2023 for her because it’s being overshadowed by Midnights and Cruel Summer.

I think she’s going to thank LA in the post announcing the tour film.
