Eóghan Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 I don't know how I feel about wasting all that build up hype over many years on a soundtrack But at the same time being the lead single of a black panther soundtrack could be huge if it's a success, and there's also the possibility of an Oscar nomination in spring if they play their cards right. Oscar season is just beginning, timing is right. I'm so conflicted lol

And if it can be a hit and/or something that can get her an Oscar/golden globe nomination... Then it's a good thing. At this point I will take any new music tbh. The only new song in 6 years has been Believe It... And that was.... Underwhelming

I knew she would go all out with the era whenever she decided to come back. No point in returning to music unless you’re going to do it big. I would be happy with the soundtrack songs and maybe some other feats (I am still being delusional and convinced she did a song with Kelela) before the SB. I’m not expecting new Rih music fr until afterwards anyway. Hope we get a bop (hello, The Dream) and something really moving for the closing credits song. That would be nice after the long drought. Ultimately I just hope the songs are great. finally, I can’t believe the same people who tried to convince us she would never release music or tour again are now trying to convince us this is a Farwell era. please give it up. If someone like Sade isn’t officially retired, Rih is not going to retire. She can take long breaks if she chooses to but that’s not the same thing lol.

Yall acting like as if he won’t have saved his best material for Rihanna, there’s nothing to worry about whether he is or isn’t, or any producers for that matter, as I said I’m sure every producers and writers that have worked with Rihanna wouldn’t have anything but the absolute best. Plus, I trust Rihanna wouldn’t be putting out music she isn’t proud of.
