That basically confirms no tour this year.

She is so tired.. :bibliahh::rip:

Honestly, given how touring works these days, this was obvious to me. Big tours are announced 6 months in advance. There is no noise at the moment musically speaking, and I’m not expecting a tour announcement before there’s new music.

She announced DWT several weeks before the release of Diamonds (and months before Unapologetic), and AWT several months before Work/ANTI came out... so you never know

Yep, that's fair! The way I see it tho, I'm not sure that strategy would work this time around. People are thirsty for new music, but would they get excited about a tour being announced BEFORE there's new music? I'm not so sure. I think she needs to announce her new music first (or both at the same time!)

"More than likely" going to the Globes according to Variety:

Original song nominees Rihanna and Taylor Swift are more than likely going to be attending the Globes.

If she doesn’t attend I’m going to be pressed

This. DWT & Anti Tour started in March and were announced the  Fall prior. I was being delusional and hoping she’d announce a summer tour this month or next but seeing that she skipped Coachella I don’t even see that happening.

Hope she not fighting her dress like BP red carpet.

If she skip GG red carpet to avoid SB questions.

I am kind of disappointed about her not heading Coachella because it means music probably not coming. I get it though. She is a new mum and probably wants more soon. I just hope she gives it her all at SB and releases an album this year. Coachella and Glastonbury would’ve meant new music I think.

honestly though is Blackpink a good headliner? Seems a bit weak…

She told us :michael:

"Superbowl is one thing, new music is another"

She told us the truth.

I'm a little disappointed because a Coachella performance could be a R9 confirmation for this year.

But we have the SB. The biggest stage. And let's see if R9 happen this year. I'm positive about that.

Also the Golden is a really cool event. She will most likely be there to invite the actress and actors to the SXF show.

If the Oscar nomination happens too, then we will have a performance most likely

But why not releasing new music ?! I’m sure she’s sittin on a ton of incredible tracks (or at least enough to release an excellent body of work)…tired of listening to Lift Me Up all day, everyday :chick3:

Taste but Consideration is also a top tier track. :deadbanana2:

It makes sense that she turned down Coachella this year, because she probably would've done it as part of a tour and realistically speaking there's no way she would've kicked off a tour just 2 months after the SB.

I don't see how that excludes the possibility of a tour + album this year.

She's taking the Golden Globe so it makes sense she's attending.

We’re spearheaded by the team at Roc Nation, Willow, incredible choreographer and creative director Parris Goebel, and my partner on this is Omar Edwards as the co-musical director. So it’s been really cool, man. The thing about Rihanna is that she’s so creative. She is boundary-pushing at all times, so it’s going to be unlike anything you’ve ever seen before, and we always try to push the envelope with her.

This is her first time back. We’ve done Savage Fenty now for four years in a row, which is the highly, highly, highly accredited fashion show that she changed the game with on Amazon. So we’ve been able to push some sounds and some sonic palettes out there.

But this is her first time coming back as Rihanna, the artist. And so she was really open. She knows that her career has expanded different sonic palletes, from EDM to pop to hardcore hip-hop to ballads. And so we’re coming up with it together because everybody who is a Rihanna fan, they have their different moments of who Rihanna is to them, and what each song means to them as well. We want to try to give a little bit to everybody.
