The best thing about this is the haters being absolutely gagged.

EXACTLY! I would like your post if I could, but I lost my reaction privileges. Could someone do it for me? Thanks!

I do want to know who decided to release 1:59 first. All Yours should've been the one to introduce us to the era. I love 1:59 down, but after hearing the album they had several choices.

I mean, were those songs even ready back in April? She was toying with the tracklist up until a couple days ago lol

She's been sitting on these songs. Grip for example was teased back in August and she teased Lights On earlier this year.

What a DEBUT :jonny2:

I'm on my third listen and I am still so OVERWHELMED

As someone who has followed her career (with all the accompanying trauma) since X factor, part of me still hasn't fully processed that this is real :weeps:

Production? Sublime, sleek.

Artistry? Self-possessed, specific. Dare I say, inventive? She balances the sonic bombast in her portrayal of her southern roots with a more intimate, experimental blend of pop and r&b that could only come from her. Her unique signature. Cohesively her.

I do have some critiques from a songwriting perspective (I was left craving more diversity in scope and subject matter because I know she has so much more to say beyond love and romantic relationships) but overall….

Excellence was served

The more R&B-leaning songs are the standout tracks, while 'Taking Time' feels too poppy for her dark vocal tone, and 'Candy Panty' highlights her monotone delivery due to minimal singing. Despite these issues, the rest of the album is solid with excellent production. Overall, it's a good debut, heading in the right direction.

Been listening all morning. I was kinda surprised by the direction but it makes sense and it perfectly encapsulates her sound and artistry for a solid debut.

Sensual, vulnerable and bit of that NOLA bounce. The only thing I would change is the tracklisting. I arranged it like this

1. Insomnia

2. All Yours

3. Still

4. Wild Side

5. Lights On

6. Take My Time

7. Candy Paint

8. Big Boy

9. Grip

10. 1:59

11. Tantrums

12. Little Secrets

13. Distance

Distance as a closer makes sense to me ! But Wild Side is such a great closer to me too, like it circles back to a timeless classic and it makes so much sense in the album so i'm not really mad about it closing the album
