She’s just an album cut on that one if she’s on it like we suspect. Why would it? It’s highly likely it has to do with no single being out until next month.

I said back in the Fair thread many weeks ago that the album is never coming, and everything that's happened since then makes me feel even more confident in that prediction  We'll get to September and suddenly an insider will reveal that the album's been pushed to Q1 2023. I think the only thing that will change the indefinite delays is if she gets a huge smash that effectively forces her to put out a full project like what happened with Driver's License and SOUR, but her rollouts are so consistently messy that I honestly don't see her ever getting a hit of that nature under her current team.

 

I've resigned myself to the fact that we'll only ever get a handful of songs (or less) from her a year. She simply isn't going to have a career that's conducive to "full time" stanning. We'll get a song here and there, then she'll spend months at a time simply being a socialite and brand model, and eventually she'll just quietly stop the music part of her career without a formal announcement like Rihanna did (except, you know, without the 8 albums and massive entrepreneurial empires )

I mean based on the way things has been going for the past two months, I really thought it would be unrealistic to drop the album in June, I was hoping for August but I guess it's gonna be September/October which is annoying but I guess she has no control over it idk. At least I hope we get two singles until then or one single with a lot of promo and maybe her featuring on other songs just to feed us because it is annoying the constant drought and long waits.

I dunno. I get the feeling the song is coming shortly. I don’t see Starrah and Tommy Brown claiming it before Normani has even officially teased it. Y’all know she likes to do an official ig feed teaser, that ig story is NOT the actual “we’re teasing the single” moment.
 

Normani loves curating her content professionally. She just gave that snippet because she was feeling cute with Joya last night and so people don’t eat her up fully for lying about MayMani.

 

Also, I don’t see her album coming Fall and a tour coming 2023. That’s way too much of a gap between the album drop and said tour. I think the dates are up in the air and insiders won’t be much help. Insiders haven’t been helpful with the dates ever since Wild Side which was super last minute tea.

To clarify, I'm basing my posts on the assumption that the July date that was posted in here is accurate. If it's accurate, that's at least 3 weeks from now, so I stand by my comment that doing this teasing 3 weeks out and then turning around and acting offended when people complain about why nothing's coming is petty.

 

If the date's not accurate and it comes sooner, well... at least we have one less supposed "insider" we'll have to trust going forward

Didn’t we wait 3 weeks for Motivation or did I imagine that? I feel like, as long as she doesn’t go over 3 weeks and she teases something new each week, it’s fine.

 

Normani needs to put together consistency. That’s her biggest issue in every area right now. Some people would wait to Q1 2023 for an album if she consistently did promo for Candy Paint (and obviously they would need to drop another single since that’s way too far to not do that), appeared at every event possible, did remixes and really pushed the “era” for months on end, no breaks.

Pretty sure they were banking on her performing at the BET Awards, which would have made the May/early June drop for CP logical.

 

Having received no nominations and seemingly throwing shade at the show (she's been sharing a lot of Lil Nas' rant), it's arguable that the next logical frame to drop is after the ceremony. It would be odd as hell dropping around the BET Awards only to not appear on the show. It's complicated to unpack, but it's still a big show (the biggest in Urban circles) and perception is everything. Not being in the mix with music out could (arguably) present the idea of her not being popping enough to. 

 

That said, Normani does not have the luxury of time, so really should just drop whenever. It's not like she's even a cert to book these stages. For example, it's like the VMAs is a lock for her this year. 

 

The irony is, she'd probably book these award show spots much more easily if she had more music out and was more visible. They keep trying to use em for these big launch moments and I can see how a talent booker would push back with the fact that she's not a guaranteed draw and has no social media presence (a metric that is all the rage now).
