I can’t think about it too much or I get upset

:suburban:

I think about starting therapy again every time I hit play on my Normani 1996 The Lost Album playlist

I personally don't think Candy Paint is ever coming. She "sold" the song to BOSE to create the campaign around it and the fans hype of wanting something to come out but knew it wasn't coming. It's a shame tbh because the way her new management dealt with Troye's new album campaign was pretty good.

This checks out and is probably why we saw that random ASCAP thing showing that Candy Paint was registered around the time of the BOSE commercial.

At the same time, I think we need to re-evaluate our expectations.

She just signed with new management. Handovers take time. I think it's fair to say it's clear that her ish in disarray. So that will a moment to untangle and deploy a new gameplan. Signing with new management to release a single straight after is virtually unheard of. Especially when, as in Normani's case, her label situation is far from plain sailing.

I think we ought to let CP go (as she'd be insane to try and drop a song that was almost two years ago come 2024 as her lead).

Let her approach 2024 with a fresh slate. She ought to close out 2023 with something similar to that Fair tease she tried coming into 2022. Wack song, but easy way of drumming up hype. Then she actually has to follow through. She signed with management in June/July. Early 2024 is more than enough time to have gotten their ducks in a row.

I don’t get why she hasn’t jumped on a song as a feature to at least keep her name out there

I mean didn’t she try with the scrapped Saweetie Collab and wasn’t there supposed to be a collab with SZA? I’m not sure if that one was on her or SZA’s album but people mentioned it before. I think people were mentioning how Brandon was making her wait to release until he finished his lawsuit with Samsung. Which ended in him losing and her dropping him as a manager. I think had she not been bogged down with his BS she would’ve released.

Does anyone find it quite sad that when Normani released WildSide; Dua was already in the middle of her Future Nostalgia run. Now Dua’s getting ready to start another whilst we have gotten nothing substantial since then. It’s almost depressing how her peers have grown since her debut in 2018 while she has literally done nothing but appear in a few ads and mvs. No music, no soundtracks; nothing at all.

Wild Side was released like a month after Sour…

WTF. Even Tate Mcrae is slated to release in December. I remember reading one of those twitter insiders saying that Normani was coming this December as well. I guess they were totally off base as usual.

Yea almost as sad as finding out both your parents have cancer.

she already told you the situation. Either wait and be patient or keep it pushin. When she has somthing new to drop it will be front page news

Sorry but I’m referencing the fact that she was one of the few new artists that had such a hype around her music. Now it seems like all her contemporaries are thriving or have reached heights that we were hoping she would reach. I understand she has had a lot going on. However, in spite of that didn’t she tell fans that she was coming soon? So it’s not like I’m saying this to be a downer or anything.

I’m referencing she has more pressing thing in her life the. Worrying about where her peer are at in their careers. Do you think about peer when you come Home from work?

there really no reason to worry about her releasing music, she gonna do it eventually and the world will be ready, every 4 months wild side still be going viral  so it’s all whatever

Anyways, I just heard Cest La Vie. I must say that it definitely is one of Normani’s best songs vocally and sonically. It reminds me of something from Rihanna’s Rated R and a little bit of Adele’s Hometown Glory. Even though I can see why it was never released. To me Cest La Via is miles better than Fair. With a little bit of tweaking the song could actually be very good. As it already has all the components of a nice slow song. Definitely should’ve been chosen instead of Fair.

Tate Mcrae has a hit single right now. I feel like that's the only reason why they're letting her release that album. A december album release is not a great date but I think they want her album out before the song peaks.

It's a lil funny how much her career mimicks Tinashe's. She also has a song named C'est La Vie, and not only that but I also feel like "Make It Hard (feat Offset - if it's really him)" it's her attempt at her "No Drama (feat Offset)" :dies: and then of course being completely turned down by her label (but Normani didn't get as many chances as Tinashe, besides having more hits to her name)

I don’t think that though. Normani said she took that huge break because her mom got sick and then left again because her dad got sick as well. I also don’t think Make it Hard sounds anything like No Drama. I think Normani just has a lot on her plate but she doesn’t like to talk about it. I think she needs to be a bit more aggressive in order to get things done she’s too passive. If you don’t like something find a way to get around it. Sza released her unreleased songs on her soundcloud. At least give your fans something to listen to when you’re getting yourself together.

I sure hope there is a reason as to why she got new management and hope that it was to create an actual come back for her. Sean recently talked about someone coming back so maybe just maybe something is happening some time next year.

Speaking of coming home from work- you realize her job is being a musician right? God forbid anyone has two parents that end up getting cancer diagnosis, but people do not stop their job, passion, releasing music because of that. I'm not trying to sound inconsiderate, but she is still attending celebrity star studded events despite her parents, so clearly she can release a song...

You're right but it's not just her family. The insiders like WheresJay said last year she was fighting to get Candy Paint out but RCA wanted her to release DUI. They even sent the songs to DSP's for people to listen to them so one of them was suppose to come last year. She was fighting to release the type of music she wants to release. Then this year it seems like she got rid of Brandon and I know when you change teams things take a while to get started. It's the 4th quarter and Christmas music will be taking over the radio. It's just not the best idea to release now. I'm hoping when Sean Bankhead said he filmed something for a few people's return but he couldn't talk about it that he was talking about Normani and everything will be ready to go in January.

BREATHE. Normani is coming back don’t worry, Sean Bankhead basically confirmed *something* is shot already. My question is will she be cunty like this again and I’m not so sure. I feel like her Beyonce-light era was the best. The more she drifted to Janet Jackson-light is the more the public turned on her low key.

Now with Victoria being a true Janet daughter, Coco being like a more fully r&b Bey, Normani should just go more pop. We need a new black pop girl tbh especially now that Lizzo isn’t dropping and Doja went rap. Pop is where the cunty moments exist not r&b. Candy Paint was a step in the right direction/song concept. :bird:
