Sheep Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I'm about to get such a cheap resale ticket to the PF2 tour. We kinda won in the long term.

She dropped Your Love and pivoted to Super Bass when it bombed - now would be the best time for her to count her losses and swiftly switch gears - I can't see this going well if she drags this **** out any further. imagine thinking your love was a bomb… you mustn’t remember how the unmastered leaked demo was smashing urban radio, forcing her to release it as the debut single. everyone say thank you your love its very obvious half of you in here aren’t real nicki fans. which is fine, it’s okay to be a casual fan, but knowing what you’re talking about would be nice apologies if i’m making unfair assumptions about you, i’m stressed today lmao. we owe a lot to your love Edited February 13 by oshyms 6 1
FOCK Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Anyway, I think I met him in the sky, When I was a geisha, he was a samurai Somehow, I understood him when he spoke Thai Never spoke lies & he never broke fly Spoiler "I was not planning on putting the song out at all," she told MTV News over the weekend on the "Your Love" video set. "But then I heard it one day, somebody told me it was online. And I was like, 'No way, no way in the world that song is out.' I went and listened to it and was really upset. It wasn't mixed, it wasn't finished, it wasn't anything — I wasn't gonna use it at all. But then radio started playing it." Soon enough, the record shot up to #1; the last woman to rule the rap charts was Missy Elliott with "Work It." "Isn't that crazy?" Nicki said. "Crazy. I don't even know how it feels [to have a #1 hit] right now. But it's amazing." In the meantime, the Lil Wayne protégé is still working on her untitled debut album, which she hopes to release by the end of the year. According to Nicki, though, she's still rooted in the spirit of a newcomer and not letting success go to her head. "Sometimes people see the glitz and the glamour. That's why they envy you," Minaj said earlier this year. "They don't see three, four, five years ago. They don't see when I was selling my mixtape for $2 on Jamaica Avenue [in Queens]. They don't see when I couldn't get New York DJs — I lived in New York my whole life — to even play a song. At the end of the day, it's all about hard work. You clearly see that hard work; that's all it takes. If you really want it, direct your energy on positive sh--, and it will happen." 1

Nicolette Posted February 13 Posted February 13 6 hours ago, concubine said: Hmm why do you think so? Queen at least had music videos and real singles In general, 2018 was a mess is what i mean. PF2 is doing ok without the videos, but i understand why some feel like she could have done more.

I'm ready to move on to NM6. My point stands, the tour isn't going to miraculously revive this era (that we waited 5 years for like you said) that's my own opinion.. I thought y'all would be able to relate as frustrated fans on here but now its giving we can't escape the cupcake barbs Edited February 14 by concubine 1
AdrianNicki Posted February 14 Posted February 14 It's delusional to think NM6 is going to be released anytime soon (if ever). 4

Material Girl Posted February 14 Posted February 14 i would really like to know more about what's been happening behind the scenes it feels like the album being good was an accident, the way everything has been last minute and poorly planned i have a theory the music video budget went into clearing the samples on the album 2 3

For example, she’s said they were surprised by the number of Vinyls sold. And she also just said on SH that they were surprised how much the PF2 perfume sold & how well the tour was selling. There was likely a decision made to invest most of the budget on tour, and that pool of funds would’ve been limited because of their initial lack of confidence that things were going to be as successful as they have been + the costly samples. Nicki’s music is also never going to get as much backing & promo as artists who make less on their own material because of contracts that heavily favor their labels. Nicki ultimately gets more of a return on investment, which is great for her, but that de-incentivises a label to go hard out for her, imo. It’s a double edged sword. That’s likely also why she never faults Republic, she’ll tag them in sales & play figures to prove a point, but she doesn’t want their shortcomings called out on her behalf. I believe it’s partly why she’s consistently posting sales figures. She’s reiterating to the industry that she is a safe investment with an assured following that actually invests in her brand. The industry operates in historical trends & data. A female rapper, in her 40’s, 15+ years into her career, still doing this well, is unprecedented & uncharted territory. She really has to spell it out for the old-heads who may have cold-feet. Is my take, anyway. 1 1
