Venice B Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 After eight years I still think Honeymoon is her best album. In these past few days I've been obsessed with this album all over again and whew it's immaculate! The instrumentals, her vocal delivery, the lyrics (THE BRIDGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!) it's like... I need daddy Rick back asap! 1

Venice B Posted September 11, 2023 Posted September 11, 2023 Listening to Lana on suffle all day today and spotify decided to throw me DYKTTATOB, NFR! and BB (tracks) back to back and since I can't recover from this one two three punch right now and think properly about work I'll rank the title tracks: Blue Banisters > Ocean Blvd > Ultraviolence > Norman > Chemtrails > Honeymoon > Born to Die > Lust for Life There's something about Blue Banisters that gets me EVERY TIME I get emotional every single time it comes on. It's such a beautiful track. And Ocean Blvd is the one I can relate the most I think, it's really strong but I still think Blue Banisters is superior because it has some kind of magic idk. And Lust For Life is not even bad but the demo clears... if the demo was the official version i'd rank it somewhere between Ocean Blvd and Chemtrails. 2

HM > NFR > UV > AKA > Paradise > BTD > LFL > BB > COCC and I don't know where I'd put DYK at this point. I love the album but I haven't been going back to listen to it much. I need more time to see where this one falls for me personally.
flower moon Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 the way i never listen to any of the songs after hbtb they have yet to click for me
G.U.Y_Del_Rey Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 The transition from Freak to Art Deco is just *chef's kiss*
Chaos Angel Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 (edited) 1. Honeymoon - magical atmospheric journey, her best soundscape 2. Ocean Blvd - mature and strong balance of great songwriting & production 3. Norman - same ^ i just think above took it a bit deeper 4. Chemtrails - her most calming record, grew on me over the years 5. Ultraviolence - grew off me a bit, but her voice over psych-rock instrumentals is a match made in heaven 6. Born to Die / Paradise - fun and iconic debut full of bops but with less evolved lyrics/themes 7. Blue Banisters - great songwriting but a weaker atmosphere compared to others 8. Lust For Life - just a bit too inconsistent, some good ones and some meh ones Edited September 12, 2023 by Chaos Angel
jdlrey Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 @BlackoutZonedo u know how far dragonslayer went? was it considered for Ultraviolence after scrapping whatever the project was in first half of 2013? the song is too good and i wonder if it was scrapped earlier or later
VeniceBeach Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 Chemtrails is kinda going viral, +60k streams in two days, talent won! @NOW @ontherocks @State of Grace. & others 4

Big Bad Wolf Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 I still don't know what the deal was regarding Yes To Heaven and Fine China some of the versions we got being "fan made" or whatever, but the versions that have the more rock production sound so cheap and tacky. The songs are better as piano ballads imo, much easier of a listen and fit the lyrics and vocals way better.

All I know is, Pink Champagne 100% deserved to be on UV. At least as the final bonus track if nothing else. That's one of her best songs of all time. 1
