Does anyone think Lana could sell out stadiums here?

I enjoy her music but I laughed when my friend said she could do a stadium tour. I think she could maybe do like 2-4 stadiums depending on the market but that's it really.

In the US, possibly but limited to the big cities.

In Europe though, there is no question, she'd eat it up.

Lana needs to fire those dancers and let a pro re-do her show concept. :cm:

Born to Die pure sales in USA were last updated at 1.93M. While I am aware that sales are dead but still just in case I ask if the album is still selling catalog pure sales, so it can cross the 2M figure?

It definitely crossed the 2M mark by now. Variety confirmed it sold 84K in just vinyl in the US by the mid-year reports. It's actually always been a steady vinyl seller even before this decade's revival of the format really exploded.

Quote

1 Taylor Swift, “Midnights,” 251,000 copies

2 Lana Del Rey, “Did You Know That There‘s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,” 132,000

3 Taylor Swift, “Folklore,” 107,000

4 Tyler, the Creator, “Igor,” 104,000

5 Fleetwood Mac, “Rumours,” 103,000

6 Boygenius,”The Record,” 100,000

7 Melanie Martinez, “Portals,” 93,000

8 Michael Jackson, “Thriller,” 85,000

9 Pink Floyd, “The Dark Side of the Moon,” 85,000

10 Lana Del Rey, “Born to Die,” 84,000

Yes actually I just read it before. I was trying to find the year end list in US about the yearly total vinyl sales and unfortunately only the top 10 was revealed. It was also the 29th album in vinyl sales in UK in 2022. :allears:

I want it to cross the 7M mark of pure sales.

Yeah I wish we had access to see the yearly breakdown of its pure sales over the years but I guess that's something only Billboard can confirm and share out if they ever do, but Chartmasters is pretty spot on when they do their global updates.

With the festival concerts and hopefully a world tour next year, it will likely reach that 7M mark sometime within the next year. It would reach that point much sooner if they had just sent Radio to Top 40/Hot AC this summer but that's a whole other story :gaycat6:

Any idea if the album sells outside of the vinyl format? Maybe 10-15K a year.

Don't know the actual numbers but I'm sure it does sell on CD. Her fanbase are hardcore vinyl collectors though. Also the price for the standard version is around $20 so it wouldn't be that much compared with the CD. I had to bike several miles to Target to pick up the deluxe CD on release week.

Also random but remember when Tobey was dating one of her friends a few years back and they would hang out during parties?

Chart masters has the album at 6.2M I am sure that it's missing updates on US numbers but internationally I doubt BTD is pulling the same pure sales as in US. :michael:

Started probably around 2021 when random songs like National Anthem and Diet Mountain Dew went viral on TikTok and then the rest of her discography, official and unreleased, fueled the jump in streams. Summertime Sadness and Video Games rose up in the last year as well and the latest is Radio which exploded this summer.

Did you see the story she posted after this and the recent leaks?

One of the poems from the book My Bed Is A Sacred place I think? don't remember, the ending gave me her usual "I'm leaving music" vibes post a successful release, with the ending line "even leave you"

Or she's talking about Jack and we're gonna get a new Grandpa Ricks album :flame:
