It doesn't help that half of her socials were/are still stuck in Harlequin mode 1
opbranden Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Spotify still hasn't added the lyrics for the song. I think it's more likely up to her team than Spotify, since they usually upload lyrics within 24 hours. Bobby do something challenge

If Disease had a stuttering vocal hook, minor key verse with major key chorus, and big obnoxious saw wave pads, then maybe they'd have a point. If you can't hear how much she's enjoying herself on Disease (or Replay live for that matter) then you're disqualified from being taken seriously as a critique because she never does it straight down the middle like Katy or Ava Max would. Who else is writing synthpop songs in ******* Phrygian mode! There's a reason that every Gaga daughter and imitation has not been able to nail the delicate balance of theatrical and raw without coming across as basic or too calculated. She's the blueprint of this genre and constantly compared to her past self because she is one of the smartest pop writers -- and it's not because she wraps lyrics with hidden meanings and puzzles and ****, but because of how she can craft a HOOK out of syllables unexpectedly and make discordant words into so-wrong-its-right using the absolute WEAPON of her voice. You're so tortured when you sleep Plagued with all your memories You reach out, and no one's there Like a god without a prayer Nobody else is writing that in their lead single sent to radio, and definitely not straining it out as if the beat is physically attacking her like she does. It's "similar to past work" in the sense that it's in the same genre as she's done her best work in but it's NOT by any means a retread creatively and I am EXCITED to see what else she's made that she has clearly been so excited about this year. All the music theory reference You are NOT playing (but obviously playing some instruments am I right ) The fact I just realised phrygian is typically used in metal songs and Gaga has been taking inspiration from rock music since forever. The layers of it all! 1 1
Nicholai Posted October 27 Posted October 27 I don't think it will collapse like Stupid Love but it will decrease for sure
Dumbledore Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Born This Way The Fame Monster LG7 (say thanks to Notorious Being snippet ) ARTPOP/The Fame Chromatica Joanne Spoiler Harlequin
Denim Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Good morning!! Happy to see it's not collapsing. It's such a great song. Can't wait to see this music video ahhhh. I feel like it's not today anymore but happy to be wrong
Denim Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Girlfriend (garden of Eden) is the true SMASH HIT of LG7! This is just doing the ground work to set up for Gaga's biggest solo smash since bad romance! Yup yup yup!
GipJo Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Of course it will decrease, how much is the question. Even DWAS being the smash that it is now decreased in first Saturday because of visibility, this probably will fall harder than it, so probably 10% to 20%.
Denim Posted October 27 Posted October 27 The only thing she's weakened on since 2020 is digital sales, which is out of her control in all fairness. I know they've been significantly less relevant, but damn, little monsters haven't spent a dime on this banger. if we mass bought like back in the day we'd get that top 10. ahh: it's okay. I def understand why not.
Andraslop Posted October 27 Posted October 27 She should perform at the EMA's on November 10th. It's the best promo spot she has. I know that nobody cares about EMA's ceremony, but its performances are uploaded and could become viral. Also it's literally the only promo spot she can use. Or what else could she do besides the EMA? Literally nothing. I just know she will disappoint with doing absolutely nothing for the song, besides releasing the MV. But no performances, no interviews, no outfits, no nothing. At least for SL she planned a IHeart Awards and Coachella performances. But what is she planning for Disease?: i bet that NOTHING. This is shaping to be another no-era like Chromatica. I started to think it when she didn't post anything 2 days before the release, but with her current silence 2 days after the release.... it's what it is. She can surprise us, but there's literally zero signs of it. 2 1

I've been kinda bopping to the snippet despite not being my favorite, it belongs to what I think is the more pop side of LG7 (of what we heard so far) with Dance In The Shadows. And then we have Notorious Being, Abracadabra and Mustang that sound more experimental and over the top. To me Disease is in the middle of those two type of sounds 1

Dumbledore Posted October 27 Posted October 27 I'm assuming the announcement for the music video for Thursday is coming tomorrow, or at least I hope so
Hurem Posted October 27 Posted October 27 I know we haven't heard anything else from LG7, but Disease is giving a great tour opener. I'm gonna need all the pyro during the final chorus 1

Dumbledore Posted October 27 Posted October 27 I wouldn't mind Gaga touring Latin America and doing Rock In Rio (after coming to Argentina of course). Spoiler But it sounds too good to even be a possibility so it will obviously not happen
