AM US: 71 (-10)

:ryan3:

Yeah, this isn't going anywhere in US.:celestial5:

Welp, let's see if she bothers to promote this after she drops the MV.  I still think this has a chance in the US but not if she does nothing.

Spoiler

Otherwise there is no point in paying attention to her chart performance in the US after this single does its thing.  Not trying to be dramatic but I'm not going to defend her numbers anymore if she's not going to promote her own music.  Hopefully I'm speaking prematurely and there is some kind of plan.

Btw, what's with all the Chromatica bashing? From what I've seen, looks like it's really fallen out of grace with the fanbase.

I mean, it's not Gaga's most exemplary work, but doesn't it have a few fan-acclaimed bops like 911, Babylon and RoM plus a few other memorable songs, such as Replay and Alice imo? And that already makes the album at least decent. Where has all the hate come from suddenly?

Most fans bash the "era", not the music itself.  It's why some of us are sus over the relative silence from her since the single came out... it's reminiscent of how she treated Chromatica.

Or maybe she just wanted to have a nice weekend to herself before she starts promo, let's go with that

Yeah, the visibility of this song is so bad when your supposed core audience didn't even know it existed, you can imagine what's like in other demographics.

Can someone explain why there are accounts that say that only 19-20 hours of tracking counted towards Disease streams on Spotify?

it was released at the same time everywhere, so I don't understand why it is not 24 hours :coffee2:

Spotify used to track releases from the NYC EST time zone, when songs are sometimes dropped (like this one). Recently, they switched it to UK time, so now every release that comes out has like 4 less hours of tracking and it's called a partial.

Really comparisons with Stupid Love are kinda miffed. It got 200k more but it would have def outstreamed if it had the same amount of time

Since Halloween is on a Thursday this year, most people celebrated over this weekend to capture the Halloween spirit before November kicks off and everyone's attention shifts to Christmas.

I think Disease came a bit late for an "Halloween impact"

First off, Joker probably shouldn't have been released at all... :suburban:

Ideally, we would've had Disease right at the beginning of the month, or even on the 18th—it might've been a more competitive release date, but if the plan was to let the song grow without much promotion, it would've had more time to catch on and land in Halloween party playlists imo

The song is truly great and it literally screams "Halloween vibes" :jonnyknife:

I've been saying this exact thing to 0 response for weeks now. I guess we should be happy bc there are someee halloween things happening Nov 2nd - 3rd, but all the parties are today.

A lot of people dont even know the songs out.

We needed a week and a video to get it out there.

and yeah even if it wasn't a dark bop that's being loosely tied to Halloween, the 18th was the best bet. Even with Morgan Wallen and Liam Payne I fear…

Well… she just needs to get on the TV shows and perform. If she can do it for Bomblequin she can do it THIS week.

Yeah, wasn't she severely depressed back then + all this COVID cancellation mess? The era truly was, erm, traumatising for the fans and Gaga herself I bet.

I don't mind her silence now, though. I don't usually follow Gaga's activity that closely, so I guess I haven't had the chance to build up the frustration :gaycat1: To me, it seems like her team are building up the hype with this silent treatment and aiming for longevity by drawing out the single rollout. Kinda like a toxic boyfriend ghosting you and then making a comeback, causing a rollercoaster of emotions as a result

It was crazier to watch in real time as critic reviews were rolling in heralding it her best and a return to form but then forum gays were writing "idk I'm just not feeling it" after the streaming numbers fell off a cliff and she didn't give us an era. Her speaking about the album as something she didn't really want to do & BloodPop forcing her became the prevailing theme of a lot of criticism too, but frankly it's bullshit. You can see pure Gaga all over the lyrics, even in the stuff that has lukewarm production like Free Woman. There are plenty of songs on Chromatica that stack up to her best musically, bring new flavours to her discography & even vocally she's not "tuned out" or "lifeless" at all.

The dumbest interpretation of the album is that she is just pandering to fans who wanted dance pop after two "real instrument" eras. Like gurl, 911 or Replay is anything but by the numbers and their lyrics clear anything on insincere Joanne, sorry. The critics had it RIGHT on this one.
