Popular Post Infernal Paradise Posted October 25 Popular Post Posted October 25 "Disease", the pop star's first new solo release since 2020, lurches out of the dark to reveal the artist born Stefani Germanotta re-animated, stitches and bolts firmly in place. It's her best in a long while: a potent dose of dungeon-dark electro-pop. This the first glimpse of Gaga's forthcoming seventh album and, if it's anything to go by, the prognosis seems excellent. There are echoes of George Michael's "Freeek!" in the squelching synth line and the way she snarls and growls with delightful abandon. This is maximalist in the extreme and the latest sign that the pop-culture temperature is rising (think Brat, think Rivals). Restraint be damned; we want excess, and lots of it. With typical dramatic flare, she pares everything back on the final chorus to desolate piano notes and her diaphanous falsetto, before another growl and a final, rip-roaring salvo. "Disease" is like a defibrillator to the chest, jolting us out of our stupor. Welcome back, Mother Monster. — The Independent, 4/5 15 1

Dämon Posted October 25 Posted October 25 I'm not that big of a fan of Disease I really like the outro, and that's about it, unfortunately
Badgalbriel Posted October 25 Posted October 25 I'm so underwhelmed. I need to stop expecting her to serve Bad Romance all the time. I'll go back to sleep. 5

Lead vocal is doubled with a super prominent background vocal that's one octave lower than the lead vocal, lowkey sounds like she's dueting with herself. The background vocal is prominent, it's almost like a second lead vocal, sitting very comfortably deep in Gaga's range. The lead vocal is right in Gaga's comfortable belting range, a lot of B4, C5 & D5 belts. This bodes very well for live performances. Very interested to see if Gaga's gonna choose to perform the highlight note of the song in the last 10 seconds for live performances, the highest note she has ever hit in her own released material. (The only note higher is a short C6 in Sweet Sounds of Heaven) Gaga's voice sounds the best it ever has honestly, she's clearly in her vocal prime. yesss thank you for this! I was looking for a vocal profile video on youtube but then I remembered that monsters aren't quite arianators when it comes to vocal focused videos I totally thought I heard a really beautiful D5 belt so this makes a lot of sense I was thinking about a live performance of her hitting that final note and tbh I don't doubt that she'll attempt it (and more than likely pull it off) for at least one or two televised performances I'd love a talk show slot, I miss her nighttime TV interviews! I'd also love to see her on Kelly's show, that'd be a f*cking dream come true 1
Arthoe Posted October 25 Posted October 25 So about that "Paparazzi voice", which insider is getting WHACKED?
