PerfectCure Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I wonder how many of the people who laughed at her in the Harlequin thread will actually reply to the Gaga flop thread

And I hate to say that because Harley Quinn is one of the most exciting unpredictable comic book characters and somehow she became boring. I haven't seen the movie yet so maybe Gaga's interpretation is actually quite thrilling and exciting but so far my expectations are very low. i feel the exact same as a long time dc fan her spin on harley doesn't excite me based on what we have seen so far, i truly hope i get proven wrong after my screening next week

Even "Bang Bang I shot him down" has more grit and correlation. ... have you not seen the OST for the album Theyve made it VERY clear this is not the comics/margot robbie version of harley quinn and i dont know how many of you lack the capacity to read the album description that says this is a "companion album" to the movie and her characer, Lee. The majority of the songs are in the movie and she's going to be singing half of them as Lee. It doesnt take a large amount of research and reading comprehension to come to the logical conclusion of this. Also a lot of the songs on the record aren't even Jazz songs, they're traditional pop songs that were MASSIVE hits back in the day. She funded this album herself and its released under its own label print, its not an Interscope project, its a pure passion project. I get that a lot of you gays on this website do not like this music and that's fine but do you really lack the basic reading comprehension and research skills to do a single google search and clear up any confusion about this you may have? This is GAGA showing us her true appreciation for an era of music that is very important and that she personally has reverence for and wants to keep alive. You can just wait for LG7 and the inevitable ARTPOP'd beat drops to gag over, which is why she's made sure to announce WAY ahead of time that it's coming out in February and the lead is coming out in a few weeks. This behavior atp is genuinely trollish from a lot of you in here and you can easily articulate "I didn't care for this project" without having to make it a career retrospective essay and attack on her personally every time. Album Leak Posted September 28 Posted September 28 1 minute ago, Gerard141 said: I just don't see Harley Quinn running around singing good morning and when the saints come marching in. Harley Quinn is a clown. She is a disturbed woman who puts on a very quirky, humoristic, theatrical act. The first verse of Happy Mistake is basically very thematically accurate to the album and Harley Quinn: '' I'm acting in this play of comedy with tragic words The audience was smilin' cheerin' on a scene absurd '' A lot of the jazzy songs on the album are quite cheeky with a little edge, with the energetic performance and instrumentals contrasting those lyrics, which is appropriate for Harley. If you listened to Good Morning, it actually seems to be about breaking out of jail and the '' warden '' (I assume prison warden) gets beaten into heavy bruises, though unsure if the escape is successful or not. '' When the inmates began to sleep the stars were shining bright Now the warden's on his way it's too late to say goodnight '' '' Good morning, good morning, bang-bang, you're black and blue '' '' You're back bеhind the gate, good morning good morning to you '' 9

TeemoR Posted September 28 Posted September 28 5 hours ago, Gerard141 said: Let me preface with .. I totally think Gaga should continue to release music just for the sake of it. Not every era has to be this big well thought out drawn out plan. However… The album cover is the best thing about this covers album. The song choices are so random it almost felt unnecessary. The songs did nothing to develop on the delusions of Harley Quinn and it all just felt very safe which is crazy given the fact this is Gaga and Harley - a character who is notoriously unsafe. There was just so much potential to go explosively cuckoo Harley and GooGoo Gaga with this album and it was just insanely boring. Even Happy Mistake was forgettable for me. If someone held a gun to my head and asked me to describe the melody or even a lyric - I couldn't. For an album titled Harlequin it sounds more like Quinn Fabray from Glee than Harley Quinn from DC. Agree. People come up with the excuse that this is a jazz album and that's why some people don't like it...but I think it's just not a good album. Many song choices are indeed unnecessary. The reviews are bad, for a reason. I don't like some of the vocals either (especially on The Joker), but I guess that's subjective. I don't care about the movie being bad or flopping (I mean I love that ASIB smashed though). I care about her music being good though. Anyways, DWAS is still #1, we're good. 1 2 4
oinkamaraj Posted September 28 Posted September 28 most of my fav spanish speaking youtubers and movie reviewers are hating FAD, its looking bad girlies shame on todd philips why couldn't you just write a good script 😭 funny enough they all share the same opinion about gaga and its that shes fantastic in the movie and wish they got more of her character which is a win for us ig, although i fear the box office bomb and mixed critics will affect her awards chances anyways looking forward LG7 lead and a fresh new era, cause joker so far has been a mess 1
