frankgutz Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Anyway for those who liked Harlequin, my thoughts on the songs: 1. Good Morning: Its a mess but fun at the same time, made me laugh this ****, im even thinking to use this as my alarm ringtong and troll everyone who listen to it 2. Get Happy: started C2C heavily coded and ended like the typical musical/disney song on crack lol (not sure how i feel about this one) 3. Oh, When the Saints: Loved this one, the drum and guitar solos were pretty dope, loved this song 4. World on a String: This **** reminds me a lot of the songs Tarantino uses on his films, the last part of the song is fantastic, one of my favourites 5. If my Friends Could See Me: This is a whole ass mess cuz the beginning reminded me the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and then it goes full musical like wtf, but at some point reminded me the camp of 'Its oh so Quiat" by Bjork, sorta, so i ended up liking it lol 6. That's Entertainment: The sax solos during the song makes it one of my favourites, this one made me rank the album higher than C2C 7. Smile: **** IT, I HATED THIS 8. The Joker: loved how rough sounds, one of my favourites too 9. Folie a Deux: I remember listening and reminded me a song, it took me the whole song to know that this reminded me something like Sound of Music, so i ended up liking it 10. Gonna build a Mountain: this gave "BLUES" vibes a lot, eded up loving it a lot 11. Close to You: I knew this song and was so excited cuz i love it, my fav of the album + gave me Amy Winehouse vibes for some reason 12. Happy Mistake: **** IT, with time i ended up hating it, sounds like an ASIB reject 13. That's Life: another one that reminded me Amy and also one i knew from tv of rilms, idk where, another fav Production and instrumentals are pretty good, i really liked it more as a whole than C2C, Joanne, ASIB and L4S in that order 1

Summer Boy Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Diamond Heart vs Good Morning A-Yo! vs Get Happy Joanne vs Oh, when the saints John Wayne vs World on a string Dancin in Circles vs If My friends could see me now Perfect Illusion vs That's entertainment Million Reasons vs Smile Sinner's Prayer vs The Joker Come To Mama vs Folie A Deux Hey Girl vs Gonna Build a Mountain Angel Down vs Close to You Grigio Girls vs Happy Mistake Just Another Day vs That's Life Joanne : 8 Harlequin : 6
Konril Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I'm trying my darndest to cheer on J:FaD to support Gar, but I have no interest in Joker at the first place anyway and still haven't seen it. Good luck to the Joker 2 team though, as well as the success stans. 2
ineedboxinggloves Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I read a review that said "Harlequin is interesting and stylistically excellent, but at the same time, it probably won't float to the top in conversations around Lady Gaga's best work. The irony there is that what might be just another another bright feather in her cap is on a level that many artists would aspire to create some day." And they spilled. Also Harlequin rising on Apple Music US

Bhabylon Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Like you're critiquing a film, why are you criticizing how you think she was behind the scenes? They must be Madonna stans 2
Gerard141 Posted September 28 Posted September 28 2 hours ago, Mariah4life said: some of yall care way too much about success and it shows. so far, everything's been FLAWLESS: DWAS, +MV, Harlequin, Photoshoots, The movie is not even out and i'm pretty certain the audience will eat it up. im fed and more. I don't think anyone's critique is because of success. It's tied to a famous franchise… it's another #1 iTunes album she can add to her list… it was always going to go #1 riding the coattails of a billion dollar blockbuster movie. Hell - they somehow let her release a companion album AHEAD of the actual soundtrack and most anticipated movie of the year which should've been the most exciting thing to happen this year given the hype for this movie for 2 whole years. It's just boring. And I hate to say that because Harley Quinn is one of the most exciting unpredictable comic book characters and somehow she became boring. I haven't seen the movie yet so maybe Gaga's interpretation is actually quite thrilling and exciting but so far my expectations are very low. I just don't see Harley Quinn running around singing good morning and when the saints come marching in. Even "Bang Bang I shot him down" has more grit and correlation. but at least she'll have some more jazz numbers to play in Vegas with Brian Newman 🤣 2
notsoratedr Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Looks like Gaga is performing on Kimmel on the 1st and 2nd of October https://abc.com/news/eb6b26b6-531e-4f7e-be5c-ff50f155d3fc/category/154926 8
Badgalbriel Posted September 28 Posted September 28 How did Michael let this happen? I thought he was on our side 7
Album Leak Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Honestly, after LG7 she might actually disappear to focus on family stuff, and during that drought we'll be begging for any music droplets at all. Probably best to enjoy any and all Gaga while you still can, because after the LG7 tour, who knows what'll happen 2 1
Summer Boy Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) Obsessed with That's Life and World on a String today! Concerning the charts success discussion, I really don't care lol. Die With a Smile is shaping up to be the biggest hit of the year globally, so I'm not worried about the commercial performance of Harlequin, the movie and its soundtrack or LG7. However, I expected a higher Metacritic score, but I really love the album, that's what matters the most ! Edited September 28 by Summer Boy 2
