Maestro was made with 1 goal in mind: award recognition. It is not a crowd pleaser and the subject matter is not particularly gripping. It also brings nothing new to the table. I feel for Bradley as he wants to be taken seriously as a director and it is just not happening but Gaga never needed to be saved by him in any way. She saved herself with her hard work and talent.
