That tribute to David Bowie has always been my least favorite performance by Gaga.

 

Not because it was bad, but because she scrapped her own artistic project to tribute an inspiration who paid her dust and whose family dragged her.

 

Idgaf that he's considered a music legend, I've never gotten any positive vibes from Bowie. I don't care for him even though he inspired my #1 fave. And no matter how much more interesting 80s musicians were, they were salty boomers always ragging on one another and people who looked up to them. You don't see Gen Z artists pulling any of that nonsense, dragging each other or their followers.

 

I think MJ might have been the only music legend that rightfully gave Gaga her flowers. The rest from Bowie to Boy George can seethe (with the exception of Madonna who came around.)

There’s nothing stopping them from uploading it on YouTube or even on her own website but oh well.

Also, until she’s keeping TCB in her bio on her socials, I will keep being delusional that they will release it somehow/somewhere although the idea of releasing a 2022 footage in 2024 sounds kinda awkward.

In their defense, being an insider for Gaga stuff is just not the same as it is for everybody else. Things are always changing last minute and there’s nothing set in stone.

 

Like, I bet this special was 100% done and ready to go early this year (there are literally only 2 hours of concert footage) but of course Gaga had to get in the way and “edit” it herself, like she said in that Instagram post.

Also let’s not forget that Gaga is probably a very difficult person to work with. Not in the sense that she’s rude to people, but that she’s supposedly a perfectionist (which is pretty weird considering she sometimes posts some really bad selfies with horrendous hairlines and makeup ).

I just remembered the post of the photographer who shot her LA concert for Getty: “She was tough on approval and 20 shots were okayed”

Poker Face was added to Spotify’s biggest NYE playlist at #11. We should expect a big jump in streams on January 1.

With Poker Face already doing around 900k+ on weekends, I can’t wait to see how high the playlist boosts it. I know Sundays usually suck for updates, but it being NYE will counteract that I think. And who knows, maybe this one day boost in streams will lead to Spotify’s algorithm recommending it more which can lead to 1m+ updates on weekends regularly (assuming that’s how the algorithm works).

I'm curious to see how well it does too, remember Bloody Mary's peak day was New Year's the year (I believe it was also on that playlist if I remember correctly).

It did 2.8 million. Rain On Me was on the playlist and did 654k. And despite not being on the playlist, Just Dance did 1.2 million, Shallow 947k, Poker Face 909k, and Bad Romance 832k. Now keep in mind that Poker Face and Bad Romance's numbers were much higher than their usual averages. And those high numbers are in the ballpark of what numbers they are averaging now. If this year plays out like last year, JD, PF, and BR could very well crack over 1 million.

Honestly, If it wasn't for you guys bringing up the argument I would have totally removed from my mind the tour movie, I'm so over it. 

 

It's just absurd that we're in 2024 and still looking forward for a tour movie of a tour that happened almost 2 years ago from an album released almost 4 years ago, when the others managed to have professional footage of their tours immediately, released it in theaters and everything in the span of few months, when it comes to this argument she and her team are just indefensible.
