Looking at studio's slates for next year, it's kinda slim pickings, in large part because of the strikes. 

 

Ronan for Blitz and Jolie for another Larrat monstrosity are the ones being positioned as major BA contenders other than Gaga. And Jolie is NOT winning next year imo. Aside from them... slim pickings. Granted, a smaller/indie film could get picked up that has a strong BA contender, but that's an "if" anyway. 

 

Gaga could absolutely benefit from a weak field post-strike. And J:FáD is clearly being positioned as WB's main Oscar player next season.

Disagreed. JFAD promo tour will be full of Gaga brown nosing Hollywood elite and/or acting pretentious and embarrassing in front of established actors.

With Ariana and Gaga together we might actually get our fun diva back, and they might even talk about (new) music AHHHH REMEMBER THAT GAGA WAS ONCE A POPSTAR  Plus it just generally would be interesting to hear them speak about their experience regarding being musicians and actors.
