What if in FAD there are Christmas scenes and they sing a cover of a Christmas song and it becomes the holiday song for 2024 :clownny:

I’m reading a lot of excuses in this thread :coffee2:

Gaga still hasn’t proved herself as a lyricist or putting out an acclaimed body of work, and that’s fine to admit. She’s checked most of the boxes in the “entertainer” category, I would like to see her check more as an “artist”

I mean I guess, but it’s not to the level of universal acclaim like NFR/Melodrama or even projects like Anti & others which I won’t name cause the base will get mad

Oh it def it is like anti, you’re underestimating our good sis. Nfr or melodrama came during poptimism we can’t compare them

Ever since her debut, there was almost no other artist able to surpass her peak (bar a few exceptions like Adele, Taylor, etc.) or maintain her level of success. She clearly is not as huge as she was before (which she could be with better luck, better choices and a better team), but she is still bigger than most of her peers are right now. Her name is (and will be for a long time) a synonym of talent and success.

With that said, I also agree that it does feel like she is missing more incredible bodies of work, and her last studio albums were definitely not as good as her first 3. She did get huge again with ASIB and I believe she can do it again.

Still, it would be nice to have a more recent record that’s longer than 8 tracks (3 of which are hits which doesn’t leave much room for deep cuts) and not just Synthpop but shows her versatility more.

We know Gaga’s talent so I have high standards. I’m always gonna root for her to do better because I believe in her.

We definitely need more amazing albums, we can all agree on that

She looked good at that maus labs event but I'm not really checking for photos like that unless it's the listening party for the first single off LG7.

Certain arguments are getting more stale than her Haus Labs ads, at a certain point people should really move on.

A list star having 3 albums below 5M, 2  of those below 4M means underperformIng.

Sis, WHAT the hell is this arbitrary bar? :ahh:

She def has room to push herself artistically and her potential isn't always met, but I'm screaming at this entire page.

99.9% of commercial artists would dream of accomplishing what she did with just The Fame, and she had three separate imperial eras after that.

I'm also giggling at some fans pretending she hasn't release records on par with Lemonade, Folklore, etc. when A Star is Born's colossal smashing across multiple mediums was a thousand times more impressive and something literally NONE of her peers have done.

Gaga could use more acclaimed work BUT she's never had a true panned album. Even Artpop had its small share of positive reception. She can do soooo much better ofc but anyone's personal lack of fulfillment here is not a reflection of the actual work she's released.

ANYWAYS, here is a fresh TikTok with 5 million views and 700k+ likes praising 12-year-old Judas accompanied by tons of Gaga stanning in the comments. The complete irony of her own base simultaneously having a convo that she isn't seen as a legend in today's landscape.

glad im not the only one who feels this way.

currently she has TFM & ASIB with several here and there lyrical moments in the other albums. this is why i want her to stop pandering and make music she likes at this stage of her career; when shes passionate thats when the creativity and promo reflects.

outside that her discography is doing very well in streams for a rebellious-commercial artist

Y’all still have high standards for her in 2023? No shade to mother but she’s clearly clocked out

Imagine saying Gaga hasn't proved herself as a lyricist when she's written some of the most acclaimed pop records and ballads of the last 20 years :ahh:

She was the first and one of the only two recipients of the Contemporary Icon Award by the SONGWRITERS Hall of Fame. And she won this 6-7 years into her career.

The cognitive dissonance from some of these replies is real.

Gaga never has and never will benefit from poptimism because she doesn't write inaccessible self-obsessed drivel that does more to make critics and listeners feel like part of the rick and morty high iq teas in-crowd for understanding both the obtuse mixed metaphors AND the layers of narcissistic subtext relating to her personal life and career than it does to just exist on its own as quality pop music.  Lyrically, Chromatica is as strong or stronger at points than 90% of pop girls.

Her lyrical approach is decades out of style and not what gets you clout with critics these days but it isn't bad.

She's lost all her passion and turned into such a boring act, promoting things she once used to spit on.

I think she’s around the same age when Madonna started working on Ray of Light. I would love a mature album like that from her that still wildly successful. I mean Frozen was the lead single :rip: I think an era like that would be amazing because she gets to be artistic while being commercially successful (lbr that’s all that labels care about, they want the money they invest back plus some more)

Jfjdksksk I just got moist at the idea of Gaga serving something introspective like this about her life/career:

I honestly would be ok if Gaga most memorable work ended up being soundtracks. If Gaga can score her biggest hit with JFAD like Whitney Houston “I will always love you” the acclaim, the success and iconic lyrics. What is there left to complain about? Adele praise give me insight that other girls just don’t have what Gaga has which is respect within the industry, her talent, and being a successful actress and over entertainer. Gaga shaping her career in similarity to Barbara Streisand, Cher, and maybe even Whitney Houston. Is her advantage against the likes of beyonce and Taylor.
