Cruz and Kidman had private dinners with voters to clinch their nominations. Gaga either wasn’t willing to beg for a nomination like that or she didn’t have enough actor street cred to pull a move like that off. The Oscars are very political and have a lot of back door deals

I agree with you I don’t think Gaga had enough street cred as an actress during house of Gucci. JFAD imo will solidify her as a true A-list reliable actress like many other before her.
