How can public connect to the music if the music is not presented to them ?. Late response so my apologies. Shallow was the only song that received full single treatment. I believe this was because the goal was to make sure it was THE song to get all the attention, especially with the Oscars. The other songs that blew up, did so because they organically connected with the public. I understand the logic of "how can public connect if the music is not presented," but I think ultimately good music catches on organically. Of course there can be some push, but full on singles I do not think are always necessary. I would love for Gaga to push a visual album because I feel like they are a good way to push all the music and help with organic success without having to put out full singles. I think a part of what has helped Taylor and Beyonce transcend the pop music pantheon has been how they have approached the traditional album/single roll out. I believe Gaga is at a point in her career where she does not have to stick to that format (though she is old fashioned so I believe she will stick to it). 11 hours ago, HANZ94 said: Born this way álbum going viral since last year it’s crazy maybe it truly was the album of the decade Makes me think Gen Z would be going bonkers over it if Gaga released it now. Everything she did during that era would have resonated with the Gen Z outcast/freaks so much. Edited November 27, 2023 by Sannie
Aden Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 With Rain On Me hitting 1 billion streams, I compiled a list of songs with 1 billion+ streams by female artist: Ariana Grande: 12 Rihanna: 12 Dua Lipa: 9 Taylor Swift: 9 Adele: 7 Billie Eilish: 7 Selena Gomez: 7 Lady Gaga: 5 Cardi B: 4 Doja Cat: 4 Nicki Minaj: 4 Olivia Rodrigo: 4 Katy Perry: 3 Beyoncé: 2 Camila Cabello: 2 Demi Lovato: 2 Kesha: 2 Lana Del Rey: 2 Miley Cyrus: 2 Britney Spears: 1 Carly Rae Jepsen: 1 Jessie J: 1 Lorde: 1 Mariah Carey: 1 P!nk: 1 I don't think we appreciate enough how incredible of a feat it is that Gaga has amassed 5 songs with 1 billion+ streams, with most of them being SOLO, all of them spanning 4 different musical projects across 3 decades, and a 6th one with Just Dance on the way Q1-Q2 2024. (and Million Reasons being the 7th coming 2025+ to cover a 5th musical project.) She easily clears all her contemporaries bar Rihanna, Taylor, and Adele, which explains why she has some of the most vocal detractors. What's also not appreciated enough is how she's the 37th most streamed artist on Spotify, which doesn't sounds impressive until you realize only SEVEN women are above her. Our girl is a f*cking legend. 7
Dreamer2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Hello Monsters, I'm new and I usually don't get along with some of you but I just wanted to state that Born this way is her best album. However, the lead single was not it. Any song on the album would've been a better lead single than born this way. I personal choice for it would've been Hair, which is a freedom song, too, if that's the concept she wanted to go for to release the album.
TheGerm Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 can you imagine if hair was the lead single of born this way lmao 1

Escape Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Anyways, Welcome to ATRL dear! I was never too keen on Born This Way (S) myself either.
Desire Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 BTW (the single) was never my cup of tea either but it was the best option to fully show what she wanted with the album. Hair is cute but the thought of it being the lead single, let alone a single is laughable
Album Leak Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Hair!? You might as well say Highway Unicorn (Road To Love) should've been the first single

FameFatale Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Speaking of BTW the album. I was watching Puss in Boots this weekend and I forgot Americano at the end of it. It knocks on the surround sound
chosensparkles Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 I used to be obsessed with Hair but it was no single material it's too "complicated" in its structure but vocally oop Born This Way being her magnum opus as always
