HeavyMetalAura Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 I know the Oscars isn’t the night for a meat dress or a lobster headpiece, but I hope she gives us something a little kooky or maybe Harley-inspired on the red carpet if she really does attend. Like maybe a step up from the red gloves she wore a few years ago. The stakes are low this year so why not ditch the Old Hollywood Glamour look and give Gen Z something to talk about?

Of course, Venus was always a wrong choice for single #2

I’m starting to believe him when he said the label is pushing for it to go top 10 on pop and hot ac radio. We just need Spotify to remain stable and then grow. It’s amazing that it’s already #26 on Hot AC ahead of its impact date on Monday, as Hot AC is usually very slow and lags behind pop. Gaga doing that video of her acknowledging BM on radio was the sign for me, her social media is very deliberate these days. There is now an environment for females and pop ri thrive in, call-outs are gone (I believe cause they realised the listeners are out of touch), and pop is ‘trendy’ so yeah they are seizing the moment. hopefully this can go as far as it possibly can, and when she does come back with a new song if it’s ‘pop’ BM will laid some ground work

Happylittlepunk Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 (edited) Can someone explain to me why is it important for inter scope to push Bloody Mary on radio? I never seen it as a radio friendly single. Isn’t it better for her label to push Bloody Mary more in streaming through playlisting? Plus shouldn’t they focus more on making Bloody Mary top 10 in Spotify and Apple Music instead of radio. Edited January 27, 2023 by Happylittlepunk

We shouldn't expect TTH and more big playlists cause even previously viral songs that were bigger than Bloody Mary didn't get that treatment (although Die For You was added to many popular playlists like Are & Be, etc). The boost will have a long lasting effect and I don't see it going under 1M daily streams anytime soon so hello_lets_celebrate_that.gif Airplay has a huge influence on the Hot 100 these days so the song can keep rising/charting for a while if radio continues spinning it. Radio, right now, is probably the most important metric in order to have longevity and good peaks in the US. From what I remember, both Levitating and Cuff It both started doing really well and rising a lot after being pushed on radio. Also, the world has this weird obsession with what is smashing in the US. I think that, if they manage to make BM a smash on BB, it will eventually crack and rise in other markets. Ever since ARTPOP, I don't really think Interscope gave a big radio push to any Gaga single (except for Shallow and ROM, which didn't even performed that well there, considering how big both were), so it is really interesting to see them trying it with Bloody! Gags' most recent songs have been missing longevity, maybe radio will help with it!
Artur Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Music video and TTH could help, but those are never happening. Would be kinda cute if Godga released a music video after the JFAD filming, even if it doesn't help then, just something for the fans. Music not the bling.

Radio is important in the US for the Billboard Hot 100 as it’s part of their formula in addition to streams and sales. Radio airplay has a huge influence on the Hot 100. Radio can help a song rise on the Hot 100, and also helps cushion it if streams/sales fall. Radio can play a big factor in longevity on the charts as well because radio usually has a slower rise, but also a slower fall helping the song chart longer even if the sales/streams fall. Several songs stay in the top 15 of the BB Hot 100 weeks after their sales/streams peaked thanks to big radio support. Current examples include Anti Hero (49% of points from radio), Unholy (47% of points from radio), I’m Good (Blue) (57% of points from radio), Die For You (55% of points from radio), As It Was (50% of points from radio), Made You Look (49% of points from radio). Songs overall just perform better/have better longevity on the charts if radio is on board. A good example of good radio support helping Gaga would be with Applause. Radio didn’t peak until October/November for Applause, and is a big reason that it stayed in the top 10 as long as it did. Without radio, longevity can be hard and songs are likely to be more volatile and fall quickly after a peak. Gaga unfortunately hasn’t had good radio support since ARTPOP. They supported Million Reasons, Shallow, and Rain on Me decently, but it could have and should have been much better. These songs could’ve charted even better and had better longevity had radio been more onboard. Interscope hasn’t really pushed Gaga hard on radio since ARTPOP. That’s why it’s promising that they’re apparently giving a hard push to Bloody Mary on radio. Streams could stay the same or even fall a bit, but with good radio support and increases, the song would continue to climb the Hot 100.
JohnWayneHolland Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 BM may be over but it did great for a 12 years old album track, it will still reach 500M+ by the end of the year, so...

Infernal Paradise Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 All this talk about Interflop payola– pushing BM but the programmers also have to be eager to play it and we've seen them drop her songs midway without warning before. I'll believe it when I see it (at least in top 10 on the airplay chart)
Modern Ecstasy Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 (edited) Bloody Mary actually performed better streams wise WoW on Spotify US versus last week (+19k streams). It also performed better on Apple Music in the US WoW. It’s promising when you consider radio is steadily growing as well. Radio continuing to grow is what will carry Bloody Mary up the Hot 100. iconicyayo Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 i’m predicting a top 25 peak with streams stabilising around 1,500,000 in march radio will carry Mary from now on
