With no stadium availability in Europe and the U.S. this summer for mini-residencies, she had to go with arenas instead. Oh dear, I've just realised that the "original mayhem ball tour idea" will be spread in the fanbase from now on 🤣🤣🤣🤣 3

Also Asia/Oceania/LATAM stadiums are much easier to book, unlike US/EU stadiums, she has to compete against so many b-listers in US/EU for these stadiums on top of sport events. 1

Mikeymoonshine Posted yesterday at 11:20 AM Posted yesterday at 11:20 AM So she's essentially doing two different tours. Why aren't they all just "the mayhem ball" even if that wasn't the original plan? 2

Aston Martin Posted yesterday at 11:26 AM Posted yesterday at 11:26 AM Quote We chose arenas this time to give me the opportunity to control the details of the show in a way you simply can't in stadiums* *except in Mexico, Singapore, and Australia 7

Why aren't they all just "the mayhem ball" even if that wasn't the original plan? Yeah, I'm a bit confused, because it wouldn't be the first time she's done stadiums during an arena tour. Maybe this time the stage/performance just aren't adaptable for stadium setups? Still, that's odd—it looks pretty simple, just a single catwalk stage and even if it's a totally different stage, who cares? It should still be part of the tour imo 1
GipJo Posted yesterday at 11:26 AM Posted yesterday at 11:26 AM However I think this has some pros. If Live Nation originally planned a stadium tour, they definitely gave Gaga budget for big stadium production, and she definitely thought the concept through already. Now, even though the arena is last minute booked, the production definitely isn't, so we can rest assured it won't be a half ass mess. Yes she probably has to scale back from the original stadium production to fit arena, but I think it will still be great. 3

Now if she just uses the same stage same setlist for these stadiums, she could include them into the tour, but she probably wants to give these stadium shows something different. I think this is a good thing honestly, even though we know these stadium shows won't have big production, but at least it could be unique in its own way. 1

The first reports of her scaling back to arenas surfaced before Disease was even released. But I agree with your point—she definitely had plenty of time and resources to put together a fantastic show for both stadiums and arenas

But I think the decision of turning all US/EU shows into arenas definitely was made this year. They probably want to avoid the production mess of stadium/arena mix brings like Joanne did. I think this is a good decision overall, but sadly the demand is too high for her, it is what it is. 1

Maybe this little stadium stint was originally gonna be bigger and wasn't gonna be a full fledged tour. I hope she goes to a few more places that the mayhem ball isn't covering cos she's missing a lot of places this time.

Mayhem single DWAS is now the 10th biggest song of the decade globally and it will end the year being the 2nd. Curious if it could eventually usurp Blinding Lights and grab that #1 spot.

sunbathinganimal Posted yesterday at 12:43 PM Posted yesterday at 12:43 PM I hate that some of yall have let the OGHs get in your head with the whole 'DWAS is a Bruno song' nonsense 16 years into her career she lands one of the biggest hits of the decade and potentially the biggest song on Spotify of all time and yet it's crickets no one cares that the majority of Rihanna's biggest hits are collabs but trust liddos to let fagcels put an asterisk next to one of Gar's smashes 4 5
