i'm still so pissed at how her team handled the Disease release. It should have either come out in September so it could grow for a few weeks or after Halloween. Releasing a dark song/video like that the week of the 31 was so ridiculously short-sighted. I'm honestly amazed it has had the legs it does because I was convinced listeners would drop it like a rock after Halloween. Not to mention not releasing the video/physicals with the song. Would have been such an easy a top 20 debut at minimum

You're all so hard to satisfy  She should have titled the album "The Miraculous Dangers of a Bloody Mayhem" and gotten a 50 on Metacritic based on the title alone.

 

'Mayhem' as a title is okay, simple but effective. To me, both it and the cover description instantly screamed classic indietronica/trip hop from the 90s, think Massive Attack (no idea why though.) I have faith in this entire package because, yes, sometimes less is more!

Honestly this is anedoctical obviously but I was hanging out with a friend who is a fan of Gaga today and she didn't know about Disease at all. She heard Harlequin and though it was good but just had no clue about this song.

I do believe an album release could bring some light into the song again because the timing seems to have drowned the song out.

I do think with a stronger initial push I think it would have fared a little better but oh well at least liddos are keeping it afloat
