The law against mayhem has its origins in English common law, historically designed to punish those who inflicted cruel injuries on others that would hinder their ability to defend themselves or make a living.

 

ok not to get all deep and personal but thinking of "mayhem" as a crime is kinda triggering for me. It reminds me of during the early days of the pandemic when trump was pushing all these crazy treatments for covid like hydroxychloroquine… he caused mayhem because doctors were saying sbould we use it sbould we not use it. 
 

my boyfriend was an ER doctor and in the midst of the chaos and mayhem of it all without having the correct protective gear he took the risk and followed those guidelines by trumps administration to give hydroxychloroquine to covid patients. This obviously resulted in some of my boyfriends patients dying which consequently got him written up at work and essentially "demoted" to doing the worst jobs in the ER. 
 

he himself then got covid but was unable to take more than 2 days off work and was back in working 24 hour shifts. Due to the pure mayhem of it all, lack of order frim the trump administration, pressure and exhaustion from work, and symptoms of covid… he ended up taking his own life.

 

thats partly where my absolute hatred of trump comes from. While I choose to hold onto the positive happy memories of my bf, and while I will forever regret not doing more to save my bf… I hold trump responsible for his death. 
 

sorry for throwing this into what should be an otherwise exciting album release lol. But reading about the crime of mayhem and the intentional nature of it triggered me a bit and reminded me we have 4 more years of this demon. 
 

If this really is the direction she's going with the album then I am all ears. Hopefully it'll encapsulate for a lot of people the true mayhem that is trump.

- needless or willful damage or violence

- willful and permanent deprivation of a body part resulting in the impairment of a person's fighting ability

- willful and permanent disabling, mutilation, or disfigurement of any part of the body

 

I wonder if the part of the body she's intentionally "harmed" is her eyes, causing mayhem on her body to shield herself from demons she doesn't want to confront. Disease had a lot of "blinded" eye imagery. I'm somewhat expecting her eyes to also glow on the cover.

ugh, I really don't like Mayhem  in my head I hear it as "Ma'am"  I hope it's something else. Notorious Being was really great tbh
