Personally, I don't believe 'Disease' was the initial lead. When they decided DWAS was on the album, they took a risk and made Disease the lead as its  track #1, so it helps strengthen the streams - kinda like if they'd made Alice lead instead of SL.

We still have another collab and possibly two other single worthy.

Imagine coming off a global, cultural behemoth moment like ASIB and releasing Stupid Bloodpop :deadbanana2:

What the hell was she thinking :bibliahh:

She wasn't thinking.

I wonder if DWAS can reach 300 points on Hot 100 in the album release week.

What did you want her to release? A ballad? An album full of ballads instead of Chromatica?

Her current single for her current album is literally the biggest song in the world (and possibly her career) and her fans barely tolerate it because it is a ballad

A fun return to dance pop was exactly what she needed after ASIB, it's a shame that covid dismantled the whole era, but it is what it is

stupid love isn't, like, the best song ever, but it's a fun, unoffensive pop song like this fan base had been screaming and crying for, for a decade.

majority of this fanbase only dislikes it because a) people tell them to and they're sheep and b) it didn't smash like their egos wanted.

Joanne could've really been such an excellent album

she had Mark Ronson, Kevin Parker, Father John Misty, Florence Welch, Jeff Bashker

I blame bloopoop

i've hated that song since the first snippet leaked :rip: and it's not like disease is doing much better yet it's acclaimed by the whole fanbase so surely there must be another reason? lol

Yall she is NOT announcing this week with these fires, and I'd say at this rate next week is also unlikely. Maybe friday at the earliest

Being at the bottom of her lead singles isn't bad FYI, they're all good to great/perfection :rip:

i'm not saying she redid the entire album lol but if DWAS took the place of an existing track and she recorded a couple more after that, that's several songs from the original vision we're gonna be missing :dies: its gonna be annoying specially if the album only has 11 songs or something

Here's an optimistic take, I do not think she is going to axe songs from the original tracklist but more so she is adding one or two songs so that the darker pop songs are able to transition smoothly to DWAS. I'm sorry but 11 songs in the year 2025 isn't going to cut it. Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj have released 20+ track albums within the past 2 years. Gaga is at the stage in her career where she's able to release longer albums for the sake of it. She's not some Gen-Z newbie who has to be meticulous about the length of each track and the duration of the album as a whole.

Wholeheartedly agree. I ranked Bad Romance right above Stupid Love, but I don't dislike SL. Its melody is fun to sing :dies:

Even though I'm typically of the "just announce the album, something is always happening in the world" mindset.

From the few hints that we have from Gaga on LG7 is the idea of Hell, Demons etc…

So in all sincerity, for all we know the artwork/ title could reference Hellfire or something demonic…so it probably isn't the best week to announce.
