The best thing about DWAS being on LG7 is that the uglee single cover will soon be replaced by the album cover :eli:

No, the first week sales are tracked in the release week only. This counts for RIAA certifications though

DWAS has multiple paths to #1 now that we know this song is part of LG7. The first week after Christmas, the week she puts album pre-order on streaming and iTunes with DWAS on it, the week she performs three LG7 single on Grammys in one night, the week the album comes out:deadbanana4:

DWAS will never leave the BBH100 top 10 atp.

Awh that sucks. Does this move mean anything for LG7's sales week debut?

After listening to Disease, DWAS and the snippets that we have back to back, I'm kinda starting to see the vision a little bit, lowkey :gaycat1:maybe DWAS won't stick out as much as I thought.

Lady Gaga, who's 38 and engaged to tech entrepreneur Michael Polansky, spoke about the song — as well as the upcoming album that her fans refer to as LG7 and her booking as a headliner at next year's Coachella festival — between video shoots this week at a Santa Monica recording studio.

@Hot Volcano

It sounds like she shot 2 music videos.  And did this interview in between 2 music video shoots.

I feel like she shot one with the weekend (possibly) and then another one possibly with Bruno, Rose making a cameo if the deuxmoi tea is to be trusted.

The missing piece to save the album in the charts

:suburban:

But yaasss at Gesa being involved, even if I can't imagine DWAS next to the kind of music he produces.

After MONTHS of a handful of us in this base predicting DWAS would end up on LG7 despite her confirming disease as the lead, I feel GREAT!

I'm more a quality stan than a success stan, but DWAS is too monumental in Gaga's career to NOT be featured on any of her albums.

not only is it already her biggest hit since Bad Romance, it may end up as her biggest EVER.

It would be one thing if it faded in October, but this is a career defining song that she will be remembered for. I don't blame the decision one bit and think it's correct.

Not only will it boost LG7's units, but it'll help market the album and get more people to hear it in general, which is a GREAT THING!

since the single cover will change to LG7's cover, it'll also redirect to LG7 when you click on it… FOR THE REST OF ETERNITY.

the more ears on LG7 the better, whether you care about the charts or not, it'll be great that the GP will be A TON more aware of the album now.

DWAS will likely continue to smash on Spotify well into 2025, and beyond! This is one of the smartest decisions her team has ever made

wait. so since disease is "LG7 first single", does that make dwas promo single before the lead?

The only negative I'll say is this:

When she announced LG7/Disease release date on that piece of paper, it was pretty clear that disease was the lead.

with that said, I just hope die with a smile was added to the album as a "missing piece" (which she says in the article), rather than morphing the album around it to make it make sense in the context of the album.

But she keeps saying the album is chaotic, a big mix of genres, so as long as it didn't make the track list change in any big way I don't see the problem.

Yea but they said studio video shoots and she just did Santa Claus is Coming to Town in a studio, so they might be reffering to that.

DWAS getting its best radio update in WEEKS and disease falling in the same hour that DWAS got confirmed for LG7 is kinda silly/ironic

Oh please. Did flowers make Miley's album tracks somehow get a lot of streams? No it did not. The album still needs to be of quality and stand on it's own at the end of the day to do well, DWAS being tacked on at the end will not be a game changer. It's like how Bloody Mary going viral did not cause a surge in the other BTW tracks. The interest doesn't spill over.

Like I get that they are happy that they got a big hit with DWAS, but she still should be posting official snippets of the music and hype up the actual release. DWAS will NOT do the legwork for her, she has to put in the effort.
