I was just hoping for a cohesive piece of work, crafted from the ground up like a concept album—something akin to The Fame, The Fame Monster, or Born This Way. Even Chromatica had a somewhat strong, consistent theme. The idea of "DWAS" being on LG7 bothers me, knowing it wasn't initially connected to the project when she finished it.

 

Just my opinion, though. I'm happy for those of you who genuinely appreciate the idea.

Her prime albums always had a bit of mess but an overall direction, and with the 5-7 snippets we've heard, it's clear LG7 is gonna rise to that excellent level now. 

 

…I'm just bothered she's gonna look like a bit of a hypocrite but let's just blame Interscope for forcing it on there bc that's clearly what happened

She did talk about chaos long before DWAS existed, right? Now she has an excuse to do just like that. And it kinda makes sense that she seems to be around the studio recently. Maybe DWAS is not the only slow song on LG7 after all.

The issue with DWAS isn't that it's a ballad. Songs like Speechless and Brown Eyes fit seamlessly into their respective albums, from the way they're sung to their overall sound. The same goes for Ü&I, in my opinion.

 

DWAS, on the other hand, feels worlds apart from everything we've heard about LG7—both in terms of her vocals and the production. It wasn't part of the album; it was just a standalone release, meaning it had no connection to the creative process behind the record.

putting DWAS on LG7 for the charts (let's be real yall) is wack and will prob hurt its chances with critics. Disease and DWAS could not be more different (moreso than any two songs on BTW) and I'm struggling to see how she can make them both work on the same album but we will see I guess

i will skip, but the stain will always be there. i will remember this moment in 2050 when i'll be listening to Lg7 and i will be disgusted as i am right now
