She just dropped Disease with no anticipation, physicals, merch or the traditional promo that would have helped it debut in the top 20/10, and just let it fall. She acts, and looks like she has no energy to do anything monumental or interesting. I hope things will improve in January, but it feels so late to be less than 2 months from the album and knowing nothing about it I think we should give her time for now. There is no point in teasing yet with Xmas and everything else happening right now. Coming with a bang in January is literally the perfect option now. 12
Popular Post HonourableVomit Posted Thursday at 04:01 AM Popular Post Posted Thursday at 04:01 AM what exactly kind of "promo" do you think is available for December cause she just did carpool karaoke and sang her 2 current singles 14 1
HausOfPunk Posted Thursday at 04:13 AM Posted Thursday at 04:13 AM I just finished watching the Carpool Karaoke Christmas special. That was a lot of fun! And yes, I did skip Dua Lipa's segment. 1
Jack! Posted Thursday at 04:17 AM Posted Thursday at 04:17 AM To be fair, she doesn't (or didn't) have to wait until January to announce the album. It's highly unlikely she'll release on 28/02 since Kendrick's physicals come out that day and Interscope aren't going to overlap two of their big artists on the same day. Putting 21/02 as the latest possible release, that's 9 weeks away on Friday, or less if she releases earlier in the month. It's not unusual to have information on an album within the time frame presented, and most would also have pre-orders up. It is what it is, 4
Aston Martin Posted Thursday at 05:13 AM Posted Thursday at 05:13 AM (edited) The DWAS MV is less than 1 million views away from surpassing Beautiful Things it has already done so on Youtube Music (DWAS is at 847 million plays whereas Beautiful Things is at 819 million). Also the way that Poker Face, the biggest song of 2009, is tracking to have its biggest year ever on Spotify and Youtube in 2024 is absolutely insane it really transcended the time in which it was a hit to become a remembered classic today. It is what it is, Billie Eilish (Interscope) announced 18 days before release. I think Gar will come on Valentine's Day.

And she was coming off a major hit from the soundtrack of the biggest movie of the year and an Oscar win. And after she announced she teased the album daily. 2

Yeah you're right it was her tour that was announced on April 29. Coming off a major hit that wasn't on the album (Sound familiar? If the world was ending?) If Gaga announces on January 4 then it's 41 days. Edited Thursday at 07:25 AM by HonourableVomit 1
Florence Belch Posted Thursday at 07:39 AM Posted Thursday at 07:39 AM What if the second single is Notorious Being, and the music video has all these cameos as a reference to all the "Thank you X" drags Oh Godga, get that smash 6

Die with a Smile: 7,980 (+380) US chart: 82. Die with a Smile: 5,636 points (+276) The decreases in point growth are due to Christmas songs. Also DWAS is going to tie Bad Romance for weeks spent in the top 10 this week (17). Only Just Dance (19) and Poker Face (18) are ahead. Biggest global chart hits of the 2020s (via TOTC): 44. Die with a Smile: 8,340 (+360) US chart: 74. Die with a Smile: 5,960 (+324) Solid and the numbers should get better once Christmas ends DWAS is currently the 6th biggest hit of 2024 globally using the inverse chart points system. And all of the songs ahead of it had the advantage of coming out during the first half of 2024 or earlier. 5

Pop Fan Posted Thursday at 08:04 AM Posted Thursday at 08:04 AM It's so weird that she released a huuge smash and a total flop 1 month apart. Disease deserved better. 2
Aston Martin Posted Thursday at 08:57 AM Posted Thursday at 08:57 AM at this point I'm just thankful that the bang in question isn't this 2

It is what it is, I was thinking the same, but then I realized, Gaga is not gonna be releasing a new limited edition for pre order every week to "pile up" pre orders nnn and we all know liddos buying power has declined especially in US. I think 1 month of pre orders is actually enough Basically I don't think there'll be any pre orders piling up if she had announced the album now or earlier. So her announcing it right after new year could be a good strategy, then the hype will last until the album release if it comes on February 14th for example.

PoisonCandy Posted Thursday at 11:34 AM Posted Thursday at 11:34 AM Why do you guys think Disease flopped? Do you think it's true that she needs other artists to have a smash?
