DWAS is #62 on the Billboard Hot 100 year-end chart (songs released in the 2nd half of the year usually have a disadvantage. It should be in the top 10 for YE 2025).

Gaga's year-end entries on the BB100:

  • 2024: Die with a Smile (62)
  • 2023: Bloody Mary (99)

Yeah, but Disease has more personality imo

Yes. For us gays. But we're less than 1% of the world's population. Unfortunately.

I'm never going to get over how resilient DWAS has been. Withstanding a KPOP drop with the same collaborator and the CHRISTMAS FREEZE? How is that even possible? And on top of that it's a genuinely good song. :jonny:

Doesn't it have a decent chance at number one going into the new year? Imagine if it's the first #1 of 2025.

I see what you're saying, but I don't think It's about gays or not, everyone has personal taste and preferences when it comes to a song or anything else, but some things can be evaluated more objectively. In this case, while Disease may not appeal to everyone, it undeniably has more personality compared to DWAS. :bird:

Spoiler

Disease is better produced, richer, and pushes boundaries for the pop genre in 2024. It stands out as something unique on the radio rn and dares to take that risk.

On the other hand, DWAS is one of the most inoffensive songs out there. That's not to take away from the fact that it's a good song—it's just that its timelessness comes from its inoffensiveness. It doesn't break new ground or bring anything fresh to its genre it's a good song, and Gaga and Bruno both have incredible voices and that's it...

Are there people who disagree with this? :jonny:

This is objective fact. What makes both songs so good is exactly how they play to their expectations. Disease is the kind of bonker song we expect from Ga while DWAS is the king of simple, beautiful song we expect from Ga.

It's part of the joy of stanning someone so multifaceted.

Sucks that DWAS can't reach #1 during the Grammy voting period, but lettuce pray. Wonder what place it's in right now :matty:

It does have a chance. It'll bounce back decently on HAC and AC radio after the Christmas freeze is over and if it keeps remaining stable on streaming and nothing else blows up then it could happen the tracking week of December 27th-January 2nd. But I'm not predicting things one way or another, especially after last time :rip:

The good thing about DWAS getting bigger and bigger is it'll make burying JFAD easier as her true tentpole moment of 2024 and we can always claim Disease underperformed because it was cannabilized

we won

When Radio considers DWAS a Christmas song so they drop it like a rock in Jan then what? :suburban:

DWAS' smashery still feels incomplete without the H100 #1 :jonny:

SZA's Lana can still get a smash, and Taylor can release. But it's looking promising so far post-Xmas.

Jokers might be a bigger failure than ARTPOP. At least ARTPOP served quality and she's all over the news, jokers is fully crickets and already forgotten

It caught on in India (the country) and apparently there are a lot of people there.
