I was listening to Born This Way (A) this morning and was thinking about how many of Lady Gaga's past pop albums and songs don't hit like they used to.

 

Maybe I'm just in need of new pop music from her, and I'm bored of revisiting the same six albums all the time, especially considering how much I've listened to them over the years.

 

But still, which album do you all think has aged better and gets revisited more often? I think mine is ARTPOP.

I know YouTube isn't big for music videos anymore but Disease only having 16 million views is kinda tragic. Such a good song and video shouldn't be taking this long to outview a bomb like Woman's World.

 

(Though the latter was controversial in a bad way and the former had an odd video release.)

After JFAD/Harlequin and Disease not smashing out the gate, Interscope is going to want one good smash for the album. (Either that or they've just come to expect Gaga pop eras to falter at this point. )

The way the LG7 era seems DEAD right at the beginning, due to the Xmas freeze (or not )

 

I need them to start all over again in Jan and call Disease a buzz / introducing promo single and do a proper lead single in Jan cuz... the way I dont even listen to Disease these days , not because the song is not great, but the excitement is gone. That's the adrenalin we get from stanning pop culture.

The thing is, except for that short Vogue interview, we know nothing about the music. I believe during the Chromatica era, by this point we had several interviews.

Why does the era feel this dead? Is it really JUST bc the song tanked? That's all that's missing I feel? The DWAS era felt so full bc the song kept gagging on the charts. There was hype in its debut. Hype in where it would go.

 

Disease has none of that… feels like the song is dead. And idk… maybe all the era hype is on TikTok? The fan content is there I think. There's fan art. Mashups. Remixes. The song is great and everyone says so. The video is amazing. Every thing is there on paper but like idk… 

 

Something is going wrong and I can't explain it. I can't say she's not even trying bc she is apart from performing on TV - the TikToks were cute!

 

Idk… guess it's time to hibernate until January

 

 

At least there's concrete serves like Gagachella 2.0 and Gagacabana to look forward to… hopefully Glastonbury too - i'd be surprised if she didn't go there in June

Era feels dead because it practically is. In the nearly 6 weeks since Disease came out she's not made a public appearance, not done an in-person interview, it's been boring. Why didn't they book SNL? Or late night shows where she could do some cute interviews to build hype for the album as well as perform? She could have been on Zane Lowe, she was also in Ireland and could have done some promo there or went into the UK for some promo (considering these were places that the single actually was performing quite well initially) but instead they've focused all attention on TikTok despite it not paying off. It's just... boring.
